    EVERYONE Please read this Im about to say: You want to know what a real truther is? This man is one of the great examples of a truther. A truther actually goes out into the field and does the HARD WORK!! Love all of these guys channels!! They Rock!! I would love and honor to stand on their side on a portrait with these guys that actually took their time to go to Antartica and do the work. Beautiful work from Critical Think, Conspiracy Toonz, Dave Mckeegan, Will Duffy and the Flat Earthers (Austin Witsit, Jeranism, Lisbeth). Everyone deserves respect for their contributions. THAK YOU!! THANK YOU!! 😊👍👍👍

    There are volcanic provinces there, including on the other side of the Peninsula, but that doesn't seem to be one of them.

    I crunched some numbers considering varying elevations just to be sure elevation doesn't add too much of an error. Any elevation less than 1,000 meters above sea level will have a difference in "g" value of up to 0.003 meters/sec² from the sea level value according to some quick use of good old newtonian mechanics. That means elevation differentials won't be a significant factor. I just wanted to point this out.
    *EDIT:* A difference in "g" of 0.003 meters/sec² can result in a difference of around 0.3 grams.

    • @CriticalThink
      @CriticalThink  14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

      @JSSTyger so going by the WGS84 model the elevation differences are measurable, and the measurements match this.

    • @JSSTyger
      @JSSTyger 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Here's my method.
      Mass of Earth = 5.97x10^22 kg
      G = 6.67x10^(-11) m³/kg/s²
      g = G(Me)/r²
      You can tinker with "r" to vary the elevation and get the corresponding value for "g".

    Traceability refers to the governing body that covers instrument calibration. In the US, that's the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He wants to know that your scales have been recently calibrated in order to validate the measurements.
    Repeatability refers to the ability to repeat a measurement and get results within the tolerance of the instrument.
    Since you're taking differential measurements, calibration isn't so critical.

    • @CriticalThink
      @CriticalThink  14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

      @DaveF-dw6mb ok thanks. Traceability is not relevant in my experiment as I measure relative weights, not absolute. I calibrate the scales at home location.

    Ballpark estimate: 1kg of steel weights displaces about 150mg of air (room temperature, so maybe a bit more in antarctica). The air pressure effects on the measurement would be a fraction of that, via buoyancy. So it might be detectable if you have five significant digits, just.

    • @0LoneTech
      @0LoneTech 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      World record level of difference in air pressure is 25% (from tropical cyclone to siberian high). So a maximum of 37mg, realistically much lower due to low humidity and no extreme pressures.

    10:48 Why add barometric pressure etc. So true. And what we see in the graph is a curve that conforms very, very closely to what is predicted for a rotating spheroid. There is no doubt the physical measurements of natural phenomena conform to the expected results. How do Flat Earthers account for this natural phenomenon on their Flat Earth? And I might add, for any daring to answer that question, to answer it you will need a _model_ that can be analyzed numerically, measurably. So be careful what you say.

  • @JSSTyger
    @JSSTyger 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    Here's why the weight drops due to latitude. When we talk about centrifugal force, the "r" value that we use is the perpendicular distance from the Earth's axis to a point on the surface. I can't draw a diagram on a TH-cam comment but you can use geometry to deduce that r = Rcos(Θ) where "R" is the radius of the Earth and "Θ" is the angle from the equator (degrees latitude from the equator). Now we use the formula for centrifugal acceleration, a = v²/r, where "v" is the tangential velocity. Tangential velocity is based on a rotation of 2πr in 24 hours. So v = (2πr)/(24hrs) and v² = 4π²r²/(576hr²). Sooooo....a = 4π²r/(576hr²) = 4π²Rcos(Θ)/(576hr²). At a maximum, this "a" value can be 0.03 meters/sec² at the equator. It can be derived by setting Θ = 0. This "a" value will manifest as a reduction of "g" due to centrifugal acceleration being in direct opposition of gravitational acceleration.

    • @MrMarkRGraves
      @MrMarkRGraves 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      It's not only the centrifugal force - although that's by far most of it. Because it is spinning, the earth bulges a bit at the equator. Therefore, when you are at the equator not only do you experience more centrifugal force - but you are also farther away from the earth's center of mass. Therefore, gravity is slightly less. Not much but it does contribute.

    • @Sableagle
      @Sableagle ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Don't you need to resolve the axisward and equatorward components of gravity, subtract that acceleration from the axisward component and then recombine them to get the measured weight per unit mass?

    I have weighed a 500g weight in one room in my flat on a level surface and it weighed 500g . I took it into a nother room and it weighed less I repeated it 3 times and got the same results so the 500g weight test can be to sensitive but you do not need to go to other countries to prove this you can have different densitys ie, hot or cold or less dens air or more dens air will have a great impact on the measurements.

      There is No experiment that can be repeated, where the variables are accounted for, that demonstrates the Earth is flat, Not a globe.

    • @Sableagle
      @Sableagle ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Okay, now try it in every room, get it as level as you can each time, and then take it to a different altitude and/or latitude and repeat that, e.g. on every table in a restaurant or outside every room door in a hotel or every ten paces along the marina wall somewhere, and compare the mean and standard deviation of your results for each location to the calculated changes. If you get 9.81 N / kg plus or minus 0.001 N / kg everywhere, that's one result. If you get 9.87 N / kg plus or minus 1.35 N / kg everywhere, your scale or your method sucks. If you get lower weight at lower latitude and at higher altitude, that's a very different result from having the same range of weight measurements at every location.
