You’re THE best chess teacher, hands down. The pacing is perfect. The materials are valuable and immediately applicable. The way you teach is so engaging. Thank you thank you thank YOU for taking the time teaching us chess.
As a 2100 rated player (just on lichess tho) I'm embarrased to say that I was kind of doubting the value of this video for me in the beginning when you were defining passed pawns so thoroughly. Last video was great but now I’m convinced that this series was begging to be made. Danya - I grew up playing chess before internet resources were widely available and having a video series like this is something that I've always wanted but never got the chance to experience. Thank you for your time and dedication to this series! Very instructional and the format is much more intuitive than most of the chess books out there
This is an excellent lecture. I know that the hour length won't tickle the TH-cam algorithm, but the quality and depth is a step above anything else, and with time you will be recognized for your work. You're a top notch instructor. :)
Hey Daniel, I’m really glad you are teaching this topic. I teach lessons to kids at my local chess club and the first couple lessons I always start with Q+K mate, then move into the pawn square and 3-key square pawn endgame, while talking about how rook pawns are different. I find it much simpler to start with fewer pieces on the board for kids so they don’t get sensory overload. I’m glad to see this series of videos, covering a topic that’s relatively mysterious to casual players and beginners, yet so doable for most of them
Not too long. The more the better. I’ll take a strong explanation with 50 examples over a simple explanation and 1 or 2 brief examples any day!!!! This is a long awaited/needed series! PPP= Present practice produce. Key principal in education. Great job.

I religiously watch all your videos as soon as they come out but I never comment. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate this end game series content. Thank you so much for putting it together!
Endgames are by far my weakest domain, thank you so much for this series danya, the exposure to concepts like these are so under prevalent on TH-cam. Amazing stuff as always
Thanks SO much for your instruction. For those of us who just cannot afford instructors, this is invaluable training and your efforts are incredibly appreciated 👍
Danya was already amazing with all these great educational speedrun games (by far the best teacher on YT). But he realized the lack of content on endgames and decided to create ressources on it. AND he manages to demystified it : you do not need to go through boring long and boring calculations or even more boering tables, there are principles. Thanks a lot :)
Having Danya explain the concept with names is so much more powerful than just showing examples. It really helps during games because I can say to myself things like develop with tempo, look for type 2 undefended pieces, push the prospective passer, etc.
Thank you for making these Daniel! I'm about 1200 and this is going to help me immensely with how I push my pawns in the endgame. When I first heard there were five kinds of passers I expected they would be defined almost solely for definition's sake, but after you explained their meaning and usage it's clear that all of these have a concrete use in almost every endgame. Please keep this series going!
This video blew my mind. I never really understood why protected pass pawns are such a huge deal and that they can defend themselves from the enemy king. Maybe your best video yet gm Naroditsky, well done!
Amazing! I hate hate hate theory, but I really enjoyed the video and learned a lot. Incredible job making it interesting and relevant. One thing that would help things a bit for longer videos would be to add chapter tags to make it easier to skip around to examples or to new concepts. If anyone is reading this comment and still watching maybe we can all help crowdsource the timestamps for Daniel? Seriously Danya youre the best man this is amazing... I think hands down the best chess teacher on youtube and probably just overall and you give it all for free. Between this and the speed run series there is just an insane amount of well organized and articulated info and it really shows your passion for the game and how important it is to you that others have the opportunity to share in that passion. Thank you again
Every time I watch your videos I am astonished by the quality of your teaching. You are the reason I fell in love with chess. Thank you for what you are doing!!🙏🙏
Its crazy, i'm a 47 yr old guy and 5 years ago i never would have guessed what i am about to say, but i am sooooo excited to watch these videos!! Thanks Danya!!
Danya, I was so stoked after your last vid that I watched this one straight away. Thought the pacing was decent, really appreciate when you ‘pause the vid and have a go yourself’ kinda thing. Cheers :-)
I have exactly split this video in half - it was helpful, that you mentioned, that now we are moving to exercises. So i watched the exercises part separattely - taking a break and returning to exercises later also helped to harden the concepts, which I learned during the first part. Thank you for sharing your talent!
Daniel, you're one of the easiest to understand instructors that I've never seen, I thank you very much for sharing this type of content. I honestly feel like I understand chess a little better everytime I watch one of your videos.
I recently participated in my first chess tournament I went to 2 drawn endgames and 2 winning ones And lost all of them That's where i knew i suck at endgames Thanks for this series
These videos are going to be a great resource for anyone wanting to learn the endgame in depth. The fact that these are put on a platform for absolutely no cost is commendable! Kudos to GM Daniel Naroditsky for this amazing work
Danya, you are insane, I am 2200 and I have not heard anything new in this video, but your ability to explain things is amazing, you kept my attention on a rather elementary video for almost an hour. Keep up the insturctive content, these videos are golden!
Daniel - Don’t worry about the length of your videos. It’s easy to pause when we need to and even take a break and come back to it later and finish. Keep doing exactly what you’re doing and focus on the content and your amazing lessons!
Daniel after only watching this video, I started solving some pawn endgame puzzles and I was SO MUCH better. Thank you for this content! Protect Daniel at all cost.
I don't think there anything available on the Internet which would be as much instructive as this is, also the way it is presented is just outstanding. I strongly believe this project is going to become a Bible for new, intermediate or even advanced chess players. Love your content, please just don't stop.
Super Grand Master Naro I just want to say that 45min-1hr videos are perfect, do not get discouraged about the length of your videos as I believe I speak for most when I say that the more info we as beginner/intermediate players can get from someone of your caliber the better, always so professional and informative in ways players of all levels can understand, much obliged for what you provide to us mere mortals in the chess world
i just watched 54 minutes of chess endgame content and wasn't bored and will be re-watching to really internalize the concepts you are talking about - keep it up danya! this is amazing content.
Honestly I really like the longer format. I learned so much from this video that I have never seen anybody else explain. Amazing instructional content as always.
Having been on my own chess-journey for about 16 months, these are the kind of videos that I recognise I need to push over my current slump in the deep realms of intermediate mediocrity. These kind of videos are also why I recommend Daniel to the friends I have managed to get "bit more seriously" hooked on chess.
Guys the best thing you can do is “like” this video so Danya gets some recognition and well deserved reward for such good quality free content. This level of advice from a GM would have cost you a lot of money only 20-30 years ago. I lied. The best thing you can do is donate to him directly on Twitch. But if not, this is the best thing on TH-cam.
thank you for this series. this is so much better than anything else that i found on youtube regarding chess instructions. you are not only a master at the game but also a amazing teacher.
Thanks, Danya. I remember two to three weeks ago you had 250K subscribers in TH-cam, now I see 255K...I wish your channel keeps growing exponentially. You are hands down the best chess teacher, and this instruction you do for us is priceless. Cheers from Colombia!
Danya you can take however much time you need to thouroughly explain these concepts i don't think anyone minds. Honestly i just love listening to you talk about these concepts cause you can feel the enthusiasm in your voice as you're doing it. I will continue to watch the rest of the series the whole way through i hope everyone who has time does the same.
Once again high quality context by my favourite chess player/youtuber/teacher. Daniel provides us with such instructive information and point of view of this game basically for free, the minimum I can do is to push that like at every video. I salute the Sensei of this chess generation...
Im only rated 1100, really want to get better. Danya, youre an absolute gem mate! Ive gone from a confused 500 to 1100 just from watching your speed runs (and learning the Italian and Caro Kann). I tend to draw openings and win middle games because im pretty nifty at tactics, but when i play against players with a similar skill set and enter an equal looking end game i tend to lose. Im so excited to sink my teeth into this series and this first episode was fascinating. You're the best chess teacher on the internet. Not as "fun" (in the classic sense) as people like level but the depth and instruction is truly astonishing. Never stop doing it. Long after you've passed on from this mortal coil, budding chess players will be devouring your incredibly content.
Yours is easily the best Chess channel there is, Danya. Getting full fledged lessons from such a talented and experienced GM is a privilege. Greetings from Brazil, thanks for all the effort you put in the making of your videos.
So amazing. Daniel, don't make the mistake of thinking that just because theoretical endgames have been covered by others you don't have to do so. You are a uniquely gifted teacher, and I encourage you to cover these also.
Honestly this length is good. It gives enough time for explanation and examples. Plus for people like me who watch at x2 speed, it is very nice. Examples were very instructive, ideas were crystal clear and above all engaging lecture. Thanks looking forward to rest of the series. Thankyou :)
Thank you so much for all of the instructive content! I really appreciate how you frame the ideas. End games have always been a mystery to me and breaking them down in these ideas with the quality of instruction you provide is incredibly helpful! Your dedication to teaching is the largest factor which makes your video as good as they are!
This series is just amazing danya, honestly. The only critique I about it is that you were too nervous to record these videos sooner, this series is absolutely incredible
I just hit 2000 online before starting this series. Even still this has been one of the most educational publications I have seen, this has definitely improved my play.
Wow this series is the best, can't wait for the next videos. I really don't mind that it's one hour long. By the way for everyone watching, you could go choose "Puzzle > Puzzle Themes > Pawn Endgames" in lichess and practice with only pawn endgame problems. It's incredible how often the concepts taught in this video applies and helps you reason in the positions.
Amazing video which catched me since the beginning. I'm a beginner (1700 lichess rapid) who started his chess journey 1,5 years ago. I always shrinked back from learning endgames since I had a certain mental blockade to start doing it because of it's dry reputation. Your video is just the perfect entrancy to this area since I feel much more comfortable to watch such a well explained video and do a few exercises in my head. Now I realize I start getting a vague understanding for certain endgame concepts which encourages me to sit down on my endgame book again getting things done. Keep this great endgame series alive and you'll help many many players finding there way through endgame understanding. Thanks alot.
What a treat this is. So much to mull over in one episode! This series has the makings of a chess masterpiece and the man does it for free! What a dude. Thanks Daniel.

Great job.
More, more, more...Please! Mr. Naroditsky produces the best chess content on the web. He TRULY is the internet's chess teacher. $40 donated, a small token of my appreciation for all your hard work. Cheers.
I just watched a guy talking to a screen for one hour and I didn't even think of getting bored AND I learned a lot of stuff ? that's some quality content.
thanks Daniel
Hey Daniel, this is excellent, high quality material made at an appropriate level for your audience. Keep up the good work.

51:10 Review
I religiously watch all your videos as soon as they come out but I never comment. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate this end game series content. Thank you so much for putting it together!
Endgames are by far my weakest domain, thank you so much for this series danya, the exposure to concepts like these are so under prevalent on TH-cam. Amazing stuff as always
The fact that these lectures are free is astonishing to me. Thank you for all your hard work Danya.
This content is so good i can't believe it's free...This is gonna be such a classic in 10-15 years.
Much needed, we all appreciate you Danya

50:55 Summary
My best spend hour of the week so far.
You are by far the most legendary man in chessland.
Man, that's the greatest chess series in the history of TH-cam.
Keep going Sensei.
Don't let the criticism stop you, this is Amazing content.
I promise to watch the ads during all of these posts.
Keep them coming and don't worry about making them to long.
I love the ambition of this project, and that it is just free on youtube. You're by far the best online chess teacher I know of.
Already?? And 1 hour long? We fucking love you man.
As a MFL teacher and rugby coach, I can say he is what you want from a professional, clear and with a lot of scaffolding, pure class. Thanks.
Of all the people I sub to about chess you definitely break stuff down the most. Really enjoy the content.
Love how excited you are about this
Its crazy, i'm a 47 yr old guy and 5 years ago i never would have guessed what i am about to say, but i am sooooo excited to watch these videos!!
I recently participated in my first chess tournament
I went to 2 drawn endgames and 2 winning ones
And lost all of them
That's where i knew i suck at endgames
Thanks for this series
This is so far the best content I've watched on pawn endgames.
These videos are going to be a great resource for anyone wanting to learn the endgame in depth. The fact that these are put on a platform for absolutely no cost is commendable!
Kudos to GM Daniel Naroditsky for this amazing work
this is probably the best teaching video I have seen on youtube.
Danya, you are insane, I am 2200 and I have not heard anything new in this video, but your ability to explain things is amazing, you kept my attention on a rather elementary video for almost an hour. Keep up the insturctive content, these videos are golden!
This is by far the most comprehensive and interesting tutorial on chess endgames i have seen. Definitely don't mind the length of it. Keep it up :)
Super Grand Master Naro I just want to say that 45min-1hr videos are perfect, do not get discouraged about the length of your videos as I believe I speak for most when I say that the more info we as beginner/intermediate players can get from someone of your caliber the better, always so professional and informative in ways players of all levels can understand, much obliged for what you provide to us mere mortals in the chess world
Best chess lesson ever. I can watch hours of this content. please do not cut short the content. Love it.
i just watched 54 minutes of chess endgame content and wasn't bored and will be re-watching to really internalize the concepts you are talking about - keep it up danya! this is amazing content.
These videos a gold, I felt so smug when I chose to move the g2 pawn with the deep freeze example. Such simple concepts, but so easy to get wrong !
Love the smile in the first second of the video, shows that Danya really loves teaching
Honestly the best chess series on TH-cam
What a gem to the community! Watched in one go. Thank you Danya!.
Honestly this length is good. It gives enough time for explanation and examples. Plus for people like me who watch at x2 speed, it is very nice. Examples were very instructive, ideas were crystal clear and above all engaging lecture. Thanks looking forward to rest of the series. Thankyou :)
These are the best chess lessons I have seen on TH-cam so far. Thank you so much for sharing this, Daniel
I'm actually so excited for this series I've been looks for structured endgame lessons for so long
Thank you so much for all of the instructive content! I really appreciate how you frame the ideas. End games have always been a mystery to me and breaking them down in these ideas with the quality of instruction you provide is incredibly helpful! Your dedication to teaching is the largest factor which makes your video as good as they are!
Wow thrilled to see a follow up. Best seriers so far, by any chess youtuber!
This series is just amazing danya, honestly. The only critique I about it is that you were too nervous to record these videos sooner, this series is absolutely incredible
I love this series. don't change the length of the videos, it's great as it is. Thanks.
We really are blessed to have Danya. These are content that people pay for.
Learned more in an hour than in the last 6 months. Amazing lesson.
