Fun fact, the animation in this video was almost certainly done with rotoscoping, which means having live actors, and then tracing over them with animation.

I don't think rotoscoping was used throughout the whole video, seems more likely (and probably makes more sense too) to have the dance scene be animated normally and swap over to rotoscope when necessary (my guess would be around the 6:00 mark, when the staff had to hold her arms and later where she put on the outfit.)

That’s the way how the first “Lord of the rings” was filmed in the 80’s

No worries about the lack of Hololive reactions. I know it can also be quite overwhelming, since everyone is going to want to recommend everything. Your reactions are always very fun and your analyses are really interesting.

If he concentrated on Hololive, there'd be no end to it. We call it a rabbithole for a reason.

3D Hololive and real life cross over happened few times before with:
    Hakui Koyori and Matsumoto Rica
    Sakamata Chloe and May'n
    Inugami Korone and Isao Taira
But those are live singing, during their annual anniversary concerts, rather than a separate MV. You probably can just find those videos by just typing those exact name. Those concerts are also free to watch on YT as well.
As for the MV, the style chosen for this MV is definitely intentional, it's kinda like the movie "Looney Toons: Back in Action". It has its own charm, and by the fact it caught people attention quite fast (reaching 2mil views in just 2 days), I'd say it works.

There are MVs that mix their 3D model and real world, such as Lyrical Monster from Noel and I'm Greedy by Calli, just to name a few

They've done 3D Models with Real Life backgrounds before; like in Sakamata Chloe's 'Marionette", Okayu's "Akkanbe", and others.
I think they just wanted to experiment with Rotoscoping for this, it also allows them to play with different outfits that their 3D models don't have.
    Always enjoy your reactions.

I think they weren't really going for the full 3D theme in this MV and I think a full 3D would look awkward and this just seems perfect for the theme that I think they were going for

Honestly understandable that you took a break from Hololive reactions. It is such a big world that even I who is deep into Hololive struggle to keep up with all the music they release. if you are ever interested in checking more out I personally would recommend "Mumei" By Nanashi Mumei or any song from Hakos Baelz's (just Bae for short) new album "Zodiac". Though these are just in case you needed suggestions after your break, no problem if you ignore them

I guess the bad transliteration from Japanese to English threw you off, but it's supposed to ve Bibedeba - a reference to bibidi bobbidi boo from the classic Disney Cinderella movie. If you look up translation of the lyrics, they're basically about how relying on a "magic spell" from someone else won't make her happy, wo she'd rather live her own life and do things herself - cast her own spell, so to speak.

    • @yeshevishman
      @yeshevishman 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

This also speaks to why they went with rotoscoping for the animation style - in order to give it the feel of the original Cinderella movie. You'll notice that when she sheds that look, they rotoscoped less in and mixed the animation with the actual body - a small nod to how she left the "fantasy" of waiting for someone else to make everything magical and just did it all herself.

High quality music videos cost so much money. The tech is there more or less. Just how many 0's you want to add.
