I understand that some of my fellow students may be unhappy with my decision, and I empathize with their feelings. However, I believe I deserve this opportunity as much as they do. Some well-meaning instructors have not recognized my potential, and the school apprenticeship environment hasn't given me the chance to prove them wrong. Initially, I agreed to something without having all the information. Now that I have a clearer understanding, I've realized my earlier agreement was a mistake, and I've chosen a different path. I have support from one side, and I anticipate reluctance from the other, but we've prepared a plan to address this. My boss is willing to advocate for me with the school, and if he's unable to change their minds, he will assist me in transferring to a different school.
