There are currently 61 of us watching and learning from this knowledgeable and talented young man! There should be more people hitting the like button!
No one knew aobut him because he didn't sing. He wrote songs and played guitar. His wife was the one who finally convinced him to actually put his voice out there. We are all blessed because he listened to her
He was actually the lead singer in 2 bands. The Steeldrivers (2005-2010) and The Jompson Brothers.(2007-2013).
So people had been hearing him sing for years before she talked him into going solo.
I love his wife told him to sang. That's what Stapleton does!!! 😂❤
His National Anthem at the Super Bowl was absolutely phenomenal
The 🌎 is billions of years old, but we're lucky enough to live at the same time as this living legend.
Spine chilling
Stapleton had a lot of stage fright, and still does, but his wife convinced him to get out there and still supports him both as a singer and a person. Watch his eyes go to her during this performance -- it's like he's singing to her.
I think it's more for grounding. If you watch her closely, you will see her smile and slightly nod her head when he looks at her.
Love Chris. My favorite voice ever.
I love Chris Stapleton’s iconic sound. So great that you can analyze so many different types of voices. Thank you!
Truly enjoyed your admiration of Chris, whose voice is probably the opposite of Opera! He is so completely unique and captivating in his artistry. Great video! 🙂
Brilliant singer, songwriter, guitarist, and band leader
Peter, I totally agree with you about Chris Stapleton voice! He is absolutely my favorite right now! That grit is so wonderful! He has more soul in his voice that anyone I’ve ever heard! Thanks for reacting to this! I would love to here you react to his song Cold from the CMA awards!
My appreciation for Chris Stapleton’s style has hugely increased with this analysis. Thanks for that. I could stand for you to do more of those that you feel the need to sing along with.
I think his live performance of Sometimes I Cry is one of his best.
He has other songs where he really lets his range shine, like "sometimes I cry."
Yep, that's his wife singing harmony. I could be wrong, but I think she pretty much always performs with him.
Another great breakdown! It's always really fun to see your first watch of something you truly enjoy. Chris is just UNFAIR talented. Such a big, full-body voice that manages to be gritty *and* smooth, powerful *and* agile, forceful *and* effortless. And always, as you discussed, perfectly in tune, which...I am endlessly impressed by people who sound the same live as in studio. That second verse in particular, starting with that long, nasty "I" and with the upward belting riff on "dry", is one of my favorite small pieces of live performance ever.
Always down for more reactions to Chris! There's a live version of "Sometimes I Cry" that a lot of people react to that's fantastic. As for collaborative analysis, for me personally, the more I learn the better, so I'd be into that, if you can get your friend on board.
(Also, the cabaret sounds like a ton of fun, especially as a way of doing something different from your usual. And a belated Happy Birthday to you!)
This song is actually a cover. Chris is such a talented guy. He was a 4 season varsity athlete in high school, salutatorian of his high school, was accepted to Vanderbilt for engineering. He dropped out to become a singer, songwriter. Thank goodness he followed his passion and his heart.
He's a musical genius. 🎉
we aren’t mad about you being in a tank top and no hat lol❤❤❤❤❤❤
The performance with Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake at the CMA awards is hands down the best live performance I have ever scene 🙌 😍 I'd love to see u react to it I think u would appreciate it too. 😊
Hey Peter, thanks for an awesome review! Chris' voice and delivery is liquid GOLD. So smooth, so sultry, so delicious and so mind blasting (mind blowing is not good enough :D), it knocked my socks off. Please keep on turning out reviews, your work is awesome!
Chris’ twang comes honestly. He is a native of eastern Kentucky . He grew up just a few miles from the home of Loretta Lynn and other notable country music artists.
Saw him in 2013 before he was known at the World Chicken Festival in London Ky. 😂 When he started there were only a handful of us at the stage but before he was done half the town was crowded around.
10:24 if you don't stop singing along like this TBG won't stop giving you the high backing vocal parts lol (I joke, it's too late to escape those I think)
So enjoyed your analysis ~ we laughed at the same time when Chris was off the charts in range & doing that grit! Let’s not talk about those riffs that seem to be impossible to replicate!
yes, for me also a natural talent, just great... and there speaks so much love from him singing with his wife, I can see it in their looks, lovely 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🤩he sounds even better live than in the recording studio, that's true 👍👍🙌🙌
My two favorite terminologies used: Chesty and Mixy. 😂. Awesome reaction and analysis!! My ears prefer male voices over female most of the time, and Chris’s is one of my most favorite. I’d love to hear him collab with Home Free. 🫠
I love Chris Stapleton and his lovely wife.
Peter-loved the whole thing, but you singing along with the bass guitar was so cool! I do that ALL the time too.
Elvis had no in-ears … just a microphone … and sang perfect in live performances while dancing around aLOT! Even in his last few live performances when he was noticeably very ill and physically exhausted, his voice never left him. I saw him live in concert in September of 1976, eleven months before his untimely death. It was as if I was in my room (I was 19 still living at home) listening to a record.
To me, best male voice in country (and I'm not a Country person). Between him and Jennifer Nettles..... country is well represented.
Probably greatest voice that's ever been to be honest
If you haven't reacted to his 'Cold' performance at the award ceremony I'd love to hear you do it
Folks, this commentary is a teaching moment for all you singers. The voice is ever evolving through life. Thank you Peter. Chris has developed his sound over the years. Keep at it all you dreamers and Peter is a wealth of info. To keep you moving forward.
I didn’t care for singing the first time I heard him, thought it was too nasally. But my appreciation grew tenfold when I heard this song and video. ❤
I don’t generally like country music. However Chris Stapleton is a beast. I love him and your reaction.
Also, if you haven’t heard his live version of I Was Wrong you would love what he does with his guitar in that!
You need to see his live "sometimes I cry" in the Bing lounge.
Yes! This!
Yes Peter, she IS his wife! 🎶🎶👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’m an eager student! ❤️
Another "first time" for me, too. This time for both the artist and the song. Excellent R&A, as always! Thank you!
Ugh, live near Phoenix, I feel your pain on the heat!! Great reaction!!🔥🔥
Lovely breakdown and explanations.
Great reaction!
If you really want to hear Morgan(his wife) watch them perform Amanda live at the grand ole opry. He does a version of A Man’s World too that will blow your mind! He also did a gospel song with Leslie Jordan that has Morgan too!
I can certainly see what you mean about modern performers not being able to sing in tune with all the choreography today. But I attribute a lot of the live singing problems of performers today with auto tune. Because it didn't exist back when I was watching live music the performers learned how to sing in tune all the time. I saw heaps of live performances where the vocalists sounded stellar; some of them can still sing perfectly live today. I saw Boz Scaggs last year; late 70's and he sounds PERFECT live. Yes in general much more choreography today but have you ever seen Bruce Dickinson perform live? I suspect all the big production choreography became popular because the singers couldn't sing on pitch live. I think auto tune is the worst thing to ever happen to live music.
"right there in the resonators"
Classic line Peter! 😂
Don't know how he hears the George Jones version and came up with this cover. Unreal talent.
Been playing in Nashville for over 35 yrs. Dont know the vocals your talking about, can't read music, but have a really great $ living!
Before he went to Nashville he wrote and sang in a Bluegrass band SteelDrivers. I have been a fan of his for years. Adel did a cover of their song If it hadn't been for love. You might want to check them out when Chris was with them. I love your reactions and am happy to see your taste in music is as wide and diverse as mine
That is his wife. That is why they mesh so well.
Having your guitar friend on for the Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa live version of I’d Rather Go Blind would be really cool. The melody is extremely similar to this song. The vocal and guitar performances are extraordinary
Thanks for the well narrated review. If you want to watch and listen to a phenomenal guitarist, check out Stevie Ray Vaughn ... and don't miss the size of his strings because normal strings couldn't handle his playing.
Crazy enjoy your class style talent n teaching Peter🎉❤🎉
Another Chris for us Peter

Not that I want you to be sweating but this no A/C outfit is great! So handsome 😍
You want grit and guitar playing listen to CCR with John Fogarty and after the group broke up. He is also prolific songwriter.
Yes he is amazing. A bit nasally for me. But it works for him. I do hope you review Geoff C. Singing Folsom Prison Blues. Would love to hear your take on it
Speaking of opera singers that sing other stuff you should check out Kristin Starkey here on youtube. She does metal covers and mixes operatic, contemporary, and harsh vocals
4:22 😂
Thank you for great video
Your voice is Golden
Do you do voiceovers?
I would LOVE for you to do a reaction and analysis of VoicePlay’s cover of Tennessee Whiskey 😊 if you’ve already done so, I apologize & would appreciate a link to the video (if it exists, I haven’t been able to find it)
I would love you to do some Led zeppelin so you can analize Robert Plants vocals being that he's the best rock singer of all time "since ive been loving you" would be a good one to do 😊
Would love to see you and your buddy George react to one of the best live guitar solos ever: “Eruption by Eddie Van Halen”
*Hint* Exceptional Guitar Listen to Glen Campbell and Roy Clark . You won't regret it.
also if name dropping helps Eddie van Halen asked Glen Campbell to help him play Better. He's not the only one to do so. check out the people that showed up for his Tribute.
OH forgot to suggest this There is a Guitar reactor/analyst you should get in touch with "Fil" from Wings of Pegasus. I think you'd like him.
Yes, that is his wife.
Peter, I recommend reaching out to Michael Palmisano for shared reaction and analysis on some guitar heavy stuff. I believe he did a joint analysis with Elizabeth at the TCV in the past. His online courses are also fantastic if you're looking for educational content.
I dont even have any idea how many songs he has written. The guy is crazy good.
Sorry California didn't used to need air conditioning or heating in the before global warming days often.
love the stank face!
Brad Paisley is one of the few guitarists that I can just listen to. When he plays his solos he is so smooth.
I'm again here for your amazing analysis and guess what I'm going to ask again... for analysis of my favorite voice that belongs to Son Jin Wook :)
And if you want to hear some really mind blowing guitar technique, check Marcin...
i love it. but it would be nice to se your reaction on the video first, its 3 min, and the you analize it! keep it up!
Hi, Peter! Will you be reacting to Gabriel’s AGT moment? ❤
No AC??? That sucks. I’m in Alabama, so I sympathize.
Hey you should defo listen to back to black by Amy Winehouse, she was one of the most legendary artists of this century but passed on too soon at aged 27
Its 'But you rescued me from reachin' for the bottom' -not 'bottle'
Yes that is his wife
Please react to the Nightwish song called Romanticide :)(:
I missing reaction video from Lara Fabien😊
i love his cover but props need to be given to David Allan Coe as the original singer and the late great George Jones that made the song iconic
SORRY KIMBERLIN AS A 66 YEAR OLD LOVER OF ALL GENRES OF MUSIC SINCE 1963 PROPS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GIVEN TO DAC & GEORGE AS THEY SURELY DESERVE THEM. THERE IS NO DISRESPECT BY ME OR ANYONE ELSE WHO BELIEVES THAT THIS VERSION OF TENNESSEE WHISKEY IS BY FAR THE BEST. TO EACH HIS/HER OWN. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that you have done Tom Ball when he was on AGT - All stars but I think his best performance vocally was on the final for BGT singing " I who have nothing". What do you think? I would love to see a video from you reacting and commenting to this!
th-cam.com/video/XG_KYZhoJYw/w-d-xo.html
Привет, Питер! Крисс прекрасен! Желаю нежной прохлады...⛲🌧❄☃💧😄😁😆
He has such a distinct voice. My only issue is that becouse of that I don't like any covers of his songs
There’s of course only one Chris Stapleton, but VoicePlay did an absolutely fantastic job doing an a cappella cover of this song. Well worth checking out!
@@zarasha8220 I did check it out when it came out, and it doesn't fall in a different category than other Stapleton covers for me. To each their own
Women going to his concerts should be warned that just listening to him could cause pregnancy.
You can't even get the bloody words right, It's not bottle it's bottom.
Then Artist like Pink make everyone feel silly about using some dance as an excuse for bad singing.
BOTTOM, not bottle
Shvitzing! I thought you shvitz. Last time, you said you were shvitzing. Remember, I taught you kvelling & kvetching? Then your video was gone. Your analysis of Putri. It was awful. I was plotzing. Have you ever plotzed? It’s not painful. You can effectively plotz & then live to tell about it. A big plus. You can do it in public. It doesn’t smell bad or anything. Let me know what happened. Stay well, Peter. 8/8/23
Get out of California!
he has a new song called it takes a woman. react to that one.
