The rear tires have tubes but are very good and hardly lose air but need checked on a regular basis for proper psi.

Good question! Here is a link to this chair on our website. Under the specifications, you will find the dimensions of the chair as well as when folded. I would say take those dimensions and measure your trunk space, see if the chair is under the measurements of your trunk. Hope this helps!
