The first and last times you listed are 2 minutes apart. Every 30 seconds, a card is played, so if we count both the draw at the 0:00 mark and the 2:00 mark, that’s 5 cards. Because 2 of those were brilliance, add 4 extra cards to be played in that time frame, for a total of 9. By your count, 9 cards were played. Everything adds up correctly. I appreciate that you had all the numbers listed; I wouldn’t have been able to confirm that quick draw works without them.

I just love Grian and his helpability there! Even though he immediately had to go play Phasmo after that with Impulse, despite being short on time he jumped in to help Tango fix a crucial issue with the game- Wardens. I love the hermits so much! I hope the game release goes AMAZINGLY well. Can't wait to see it ♥
Tango it might be worth to put a known issue board for hermits to see and maybe a place for them to submit issues as well, you could also add a Change log board beside it so hermit can go the Citadel to see issues and balance changes, etc.
As far as difficulty scaling goes could you have cheap keys for the first week then increase the price. Most multi-phase games have some sort of scaling where development is encouraged and easier in the first phase, so if you choose to use that easy time to collect victory tomes you will be punished by not having the deck to get enough crowns/ frost embers to keep generating and progressing. In this way you get people lots of fun, lots of practice, and lots of content on the first week when the excitement is high. I think this adds more strategy and fun by increasing the difficulty of progressing through price scaling. Great job on this project and I understand you have an entire community of people offering their opinions (and we know what opinions are like). Just know we all want to support you and this wonderful game you are developing. Have a great weekend.
true, but they will have already fallen behind simply because growth happens exponentially. starting with nothing, you earn very little but as you accrue cards you get more loot allowing you to buy more cards. Tango has also shown a willingness in the past to give hermits who just want to play some extra keys to have fun. I'm thinking of ZombieCleo from DO1. It definitely would make it much more difficult to win if you didn't play the first week, but most of the people who are really wanting to spend a lot of time trying to win are ready. They have had some warning this game was coming lol. A great point all around, just not sure if there is a good way around minimizing the effects of a late start.@@Lightning_Lance

Just add victory berries in the end shop so they can heal up and not starve while deciding on what card they want. It solves both issues of surviving the drop and not starving in the victory room.

Also if 2 Hermits are streaming at the same time they could alternate runs. 1 runs, other does deck building, chat thank you's and run prep and planning, then they swap around.

Could the map have overloaded and 'lost track' of the number of clank block remaining? Or does Silent runner still block clank while sprint is disabled from bunny slippers? You drew a second wind shortly after you ran out of clank block, and because Silent runner was set to 100% block for testing, would it have blocked the remaining clank? Either way, it's incredible to see what you've been able to accomplish. You deserve serious kudos (and likely a VERY long nap come Monday ;) ) I'm stoked to see the Hermits react and play tomorrow!
I watched him build the map system but I don't quite remember how it worked. If he just sends "increase counter" or "decrease counter" signals to the map then you're right, it can overflow and it will show your clank blocks queued empty before they functionally are empty when it does overflow. I'll keep an eye out for that or take a look at the VOD if I find the time.

Hey Tango, so I'm pretty certain that it was the map that was busted & nit the logic of swagger. The card was called out when you were on the stairs & then pretty much directly when you entered lvl 2 there were already tons of treasures & especially embers laying on the floor. Particularly the embers could've only been released by swagger as no other ember card was played between when you unlocked lvl 2 & you picked up the first ember on that lvl. Hope this helps! I'm really hyped for today! Crossing my fingers it runs smoothly (enough)!!!!
I feel like this is a side of Grian I never see. I'm just so used to him appearing in other people videos doing dumb stuff and being a troll. Even past times where he tried to help, it didn't work (Doc's tunnel bore), but here he was actually the MVP. Is this what Grian is normally like or something? Or is this just Grian minus Scar/Mumbo? Either way, I like this Grian.
This Grian does tend to show up in streams sometimes. If a hermit has a situation like this he tends to be the first to show up to help if he's watching their stream. I like seing him like that too, but I get that that sort of stuff isn't always the most interesting to put into videos or just doesn't fit into that format, so most viewers only end up seeing the shenanigans

Tango one of the coolest things of deckedout is the shop room at the end with the cards that pop up. LOVE THIS. There's just something about it that is quintessential minecraft.
Extra work at this late stage but you could add a key deposit box in the shop which fills up with keys and once the Hermits collectively fill it they unlock a "feature" on the corresponding level. The features can just be extras which were going to be added anyway, but sort of makes ending up with excess keys feel worth something.
You could delay Minecart leaving and play a record with eerie greeting " welcome to your greatest fears ..." until you have had time for all cards to have been processed.
Also what an incredible day today! Tango, you should be super proud, it went so well and was so incredible. Also impressed you streamed for 8 hours with so few breaks, you're a machine

I’m not sure what your plans for the forge are, but maybe hermits can do something with their excess keys in there? If it’s “card crafting”, maybe those are required for some higher-level crafts?
Don't forget the game will make itself easier if the server is updated with the reduced mob reach (I don't know if that's a plan or not with the server) which may be beneficial when players want to start reaching lower floors, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if win rate is lower than expected.
They always update the server, but not right away because they have to make sure mods and resource packs are compatible. Plus we don't really know when that update will come out.
The bittersweet aspect of "Decked Out" lies in its impermanence. Once this season concludes and the world downloads, "Decked Out" will become inaccessible due to its heavy reliance on numerous custom art and resource packs intricately woven into its creation.
Keys turning into coins I don’t like. Keys turning into something so they don’t feel like a wasted treasure I do like. You could hook up a key return box in the card acquiring room. Maybe something like ever 4 keys returned gets you a bone meal to take into the dungeon with you. Maybe give the bonemeal a new skin but have it work the same way. Super berry grower, in a spray bottle or something. That way extra keys don’t feel like a dead treasure drop but also it’s not giving the players a huge advantage. You would have gotten 2? Bonemeal after that run which equates to 4-6 berries I think. Not to bad.
@@schmingbeefin4473 he played with the idea of selling bonemeal at one point but thought it would be to powerful. But if you limit how much the players get by changing how many keys convert into a single bonemeal then it won’t be that overpowered I don’t think.
Tango, for the next season of Hermitcraft (I"m assuming there will be nothing similar to Decked Out in you upcoming playthroughs... this intense work will require a long bread for you I think) I think you should bring back the DERP stream. Maybe you can for a special team "The Warden Wranglers" or something.
Not necessarily, there are some cards you want early, some you want late (for example, it be unfortunate if you used all your cards, including the regen ones, before getting to the bottom level), so just speeding them up could actually make a run harder
Decked Out rule suggestion: No intentional re-logging while playing. That could break redstone (hopefully you designed most things relogged safe) but people could relog to lose warden agro.
An idea for the massive amount of keys you ended up with that makes the player feel good about the number of keys they get: Give players the ability to turn in keys at the door above, and give them a number of crowns per key equal to the level that the key comes from(Level 1 keys give 1 crown, level 2 keys give 2, etc).
Way overpowered when he wasn't happy converting to coins. There was a run where he had a spare floor 1, and 8 floor 2 keys, given he got a total of four crowns after he coins that would of given him instead 21?

Interaction mode has nothing to do with audio. All it does is determine whether you can interact with entities or blocks around the player based on head location or freecam location even through walls (If "Allow Interaction" is also set to yes).
I'm absolutely loving this. So you just lose the keys you accumulated inside the dungeon? It would be cool if you could maybe exchange your extra keys for crowns. Maybe.
When you said about the Toot being near the Icemaker at 43:40 you were looking at a different one to the audio device you went to, at 44:11 you can see two sound makers in close prox, and the one in the background which you did then go to, so the one you were looking at first could still be the one making the toots
In your first test game you where talking about not having enough food, maybe you could add a card that adds melons to some food spots so the players could get some extra food, it would be a more rare card tho, as i can see it being really powerful.
I saw Tango go past that hole so many times lol. When he had the light levels up it made it pretty obvious that there was something amiss there. Him almost flying right over it was great.

10 tickets and a low ticket cost of 4 crowns would be pretty good. Week 2 bump to 6 crowns and go up again week 4

Tango one of the coolest things of deckedout is the shop room at the end with the cards that pop up. LOVE THIS. There's just something about it that is quintessential minecraft.
Extra work at this late stage but you could add a key deposit box in the shop which fills up with keys and once the Hermits collectively fill it they unlock a "feature" on the corresponding level. The features can just be extras which were going to be added anyway, but sort of makes ending up with excess keys feel worth something.

Don't forget the game will make itself easier if the server is updated with the reduced mob reach (I don't know if that's a plan or not with the server) which may be beneficial when players want to start reaching lower floors, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if win rate is lower than expected.
They always update the server, but not right away because they have to make sure mods and resource packs are compatible. Plus we don't really know when that update will come out.

The bittersweet aspect of "Decked Out" lies in its impermanence. Once this season concludes and the world downloads, "Decked Out" will become inaccessible due to its heavy reliance on numerous custom art and resource packs intricately woven into its creation.
Keys turning into coins I don’t like. Keys turning into something so they don’t feel like a wasted treasure I do like. You could hook up a key return box in the card acquiring room. Maybe something like ever 4 keys returned gets you a bone meal to take into the dungeon with you. Maybe give the bonemeal a new skin but have it work the same way. Super berry grower, in a spray bottle or something. That way extra keys don’t feel like a dead treasure drop but also it’s not giving the players a huge advantage. You would have gotten 2? Bonemeal after that run which equates to 4-6 berries I think. Not to bad.
I actually really like the bonemeal idea, interesting.
@@schmingbeefin4473 he played with the idea of selling bonemeal at one point but thought it would be to powerful. But if you limit how much the players get by changing how many keys convert into a single bonemeal then it won’t be that overpowered I don’t think.

There is an easy way to decrease difficulty if it turns out a bit hard. Just make the cards draw faster - every 25 or 20 seconds rather than every 30
Not necessarily, there are some cards you want early, some you want late (for example, it be unfortunate if you used all your cards, including the regen ones, before getting to the bottom level), so just speeding them up could actually make a run harder
Decked Out rule suggestion: No intentional re-logging while playing. That could break redstone (hopefully you designed most things relogged safe) but people could relog to lose warden agro.
I think the hermits know not to cheat like that.

An idea for the massive amount of keys you ended up with that makes the player feel good about the number of keys they get: Give players the ability to turn in keys at the door above, and give them a number of crowns per key equal to the level that the key comes from(Level 1 keys give 1 crown, level 2 keys give 2, etc).
Way overpowered when he wasn't happy converting to coins. There was a run where he had a spare floor 1, and 8 floor 2 keys, given he got a total of four crowns after he coins that would of given him instead 21?

You probably don’t mind. But you could make a maintainance door in the egg room to get into the redstone room.
Interaction mode has nothing to do with audio. All it does is determine whether you can interact with entities or blocks around the player based on head location or freecam location even through walls (If "Allow Interaction" is also set to yes).
I'm absolutely loving this. So you just lose the keys you accumulated inside the dungeon? It would be cool if you could maybe exchange your extra keys for crowns. Maybe.
When you said about the Toot being near the Icemaker at 43:40 you were looking at a different one to the audio device you went to, at 44:11 you can see two sound makers in close prox, and the one in the background which you did then go to, so the one you were looking at first could still be the one making the toots

In your first test game you where talking about not having enough food, maybe you could add a card that adds melons to some food spots so the players could get some extra food, it would be a more rare card tho, as i can see it being really powerful.
