I talked about the squeeze between the thighs in my One Leg Drill and also have a toe tap drill(Two Step Reciprocation Dingle Arm Drill) in my Turbo Encabulator and Swedish Badfish vids.
Thanks for the clarification sb22. This instructor keeps saying this might be gimmicky. Starts the video saying this might not be special,don't blame him if it doesn't work, only drill option is thigh master. And if this is wrong ignore it. And then feel pressure in knees. Lots of speculation.

Haven’t tried it yet but this is plausible to me. seems to me that maybe this keeps the knee in position for the strong brace, which, as you say in the video also protects the knee. Anytime we can activate more muscles to contribute to the throw, I think we can predict there will be positive results. Also…nice way to tie it in to an entertaining throwback!
There are usually two kinds of bracing with the vertical up and down using gravity and weight to generate their power and then of course the linear or horizontal brace with the more glide out footway out pushing back brace So the vertical like exampled ⬆️⬇️ and horizontally ⬅️➡️ so the momentum transferring back through the body when done powerfully definitely could create that energy release to come out the other leg in the opposite direction
Someone's been watching Overthrow. And yea, while I think there is a lot more to bracing than thinking about two "different" types of bracing, that is the simple way of thinking about it. OT put me in the bracket of vertical bracers, but in reality there is always a combo of the two (and more). You can't push back without pushing up (we are, after all, standing on the ground) and vice versa (we are moving laterally).
@@dgspindoctor haha I may have been 😂 but my original post was already long enough but you’re definitely right the combo of two or more is much more prominent in your throw than out of GG he is super way up top thrower. So I guess now that I’m saying it “out loud” your posture or whoever’s may also be an obvious factor on getting the toe bounce. I do this but I’m so over my toes because I did toe drag and was “slowing” my rotation because, I didn’t fully commit to my brace yet. Now that I do commit and trust that I’m not gonna fall on my butt, but still mind (don’t toe drag),I get a little toe air tap 😂
I'm in my sixties but have been an athlete most of my life. I've been trying reverse grip, loos grip, tight grip. slow walk up fast walk up, slow run up, fast run up. Brace, bracing, brace and pivot on the front foot. PHEWWW! Trying different discs, plastic and weights! My game is more inconsistent on the drives but I am throwing longer, Just not always where I'm aiming! LOL Thanks for all the tips and advise! I would love to have a private lesson with you. I'm sure you could help me get better. I've been serous playing the last two years. I'm playing tournaments and in two leagues.
Her nephew might also have bought a TotalGym 1000 in the mid 2000’s. Shopping channels are the devil. Anyway, I went out and tried this. I found that the extra contraction - so to speak - generated additional power, but it made my timing change. I am not very good, so that is to be expected. I had one throw with an understable Comet that went out of the field and into the nearby empty residential road. Good to get some sprints in.
I think it's a result of the weight shift transferring to the front leg and the brace being so sound that it fully stops the momentum and sends it back the other way resulting in you having to catch yourself with the back toe
Was gonna comment almost exactly this. It prevents the thrower from carrying their momentum over the brace leg (which requires thigh abduction) by making them contract the thigh muscles the opposite way (adduction).

I recently started getting a bit more distance by thinking about letting the trailing foot come forward behind the brace foot, and not swinging around early. This sounds like a stronger version of a similar move, I look forward to trying it.

If anything, this should prevent me from taking too wide a step which leaks a lot of power from my throw I think. I should have a more consistent weight shift doing this.
This is interesting. I came up with this technique to keep my plant foot 90 degrees. I had problems with "duck stance" and planting with open foot. So i did the same thing but for a different purpose.
Excellent! I was about to make this video almost a year ago to point out that problem with feet, but my form was so off that day I decided to discard it and then forgot about it until now.
You know... I've been trying to learn how to brace and was messing around the other day and I noticed my toe hit the ground and it never does... the throw felt good but I didn't know that was a good feeling to try and achieve... so I shall try!

Stand feet apart. Pull the back leg to your front as fast as possible using the inner thigh muscles. There you have it. Or you can call the number shown in the ad and order your ThighMaster to get the sexy legs you always dreamed of.

I disagree 100%. First of all, it only happens sometimes. If you look at my videos where I am all over the place since I'm a noob, I sometimes tap the ground. In my mind it is merely a reaction from exploding at the power pocket. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's a knee-jerk reaction of the body, nothing more.

The secret is to rip it as hard as you can, as relaxed as you can. The body will do whatever it wants. Obviously this is easier to say for some than others. I've always been very athletic playing all types of sports growing up. But in the end, you have to trust the body. Sharing cues can help. But you can't do more than that. People have to figure it out on their own.
@@dgspindoctorA personal example. I can hit 68mph on standstill, but when I miss the explosion of my back, I think I fire too early, it drops to 60mph. That little mistake lost a lot of energy. It is all timing and learning when to fire. And only you can learn that. No one can tell you when.
But I have to say I am glad you mentioned Eagle. Because in my unprofessional opinion, he is far superior than anyone else in the pro league. No one can throw as fast as him. It's a fact. He throws faster x step then Wiggins throws 360. The question is. Is Eagle doing something no one else does, or is he just a genetic anomaly.

Which is kinda what you are explaing here. You are trying to push forward, so your body compensates by stretching the leg. But you're not adding any power, you're just forcing a reaction to a problem you yourself caused.
Thinking about this from a physics perspective it kinda makes sense that the toe tap puts more force into the throw. When you toetap, you move mass closer to the rotational axis, and this will increase the speed of rotation. If keeping the arm close makes a difference this should too. 🤔
I believe the toe tap is nothing, but the leg moving forward increases the forward mass while the legs hitting together stops the mass more profoundly.
I looked at some more Eagle drives in slowmo and if you compare his power pocket position with the throw out position it is quite clear that his entire left thigh has moved from far out to be exactly on the rotational axis. You probably need the thighmaster move to get into position. But I would guess that the straightening of the leg is something that adds power 🤔

I firmly believe in a tilted spiral in (almost) all shot shapes. It just makes bracing so much easier.

i like to do this alot with forehand throws, feels like the toe play gives me better balance and more strenght to leg when stopping the runup !

@@dgspindoctor There could be an argument to use those kits that you could attach to muscles and get pecs, abs and what not while you were sitting on the couch. Just attach them to the muscles that are responsible for throwing and put it on full force. Most people nowadays have no idea what contractions those things can do if you're not prepared.

The leg is in the air as the disc starts going forward, so I doubt it adds anything to straighten it...other than balance.
