While they might seem funny or harsh, one star reviews like these are super important for readers. I didn't consider reading Legends & Lattes because I knew from reviews that it's a "cozy fantasy" and I'm not into that at all. Similarly for any book that isn't plot heavy as those are what I prefer.
I usually avoid reading 1 star reviews of books I already love though so kudos to you for doing this XD It's not easy to hear people roasting your favorites

I totally hear where you are coming from, and it important to have everyone’s opinions about a book. A wide audience helps give a balanced perspective. I personally will quit a book if it feels 1⭐️ to me. It was definitely a fun time reading these. 😂

What I got from these reviews is that I really need to read Legends & Lattes.
I can't take seriously any negative review from people who say "I'm not the target audience". Because why are you here if you know that? Legends & Lattes is literally known for being chill and cozy, a comfort read. That's its thing. That's why people decide to read it and that's why they end up loving it. Even I know that and I'm not on booktok or booktube (for some reason YT recommended me your video, but I don't usually watch booktube). But somehow high-stakes-fast-pacing people try reading it? And then they unsurprisingly dislike it? It's so odd to me. It's like hating cinnamon as a spice on its own, eating cinnamon rolls, then hating them, of course, because cinnamon rolls have cinnamon inside, who would've thought? It's in the name. You can tell you're gonna hate them before you try them.
I think people should be more selective when deciding to pick a book up and not just read anything they get their hands on just because its hyped somewhere. If you know a genre is not your cup of tea, skip it. It's that easy. Minimum research before you start something. I saw someone getting very mad that a certain manga isn't sapphic and they felt betrayed and I was like... who said it was sapphic? There's literally no tag, nothing in the synopsis, you can look it up on every platform on the internet and none will say it's sapphic. Again, minimum research is all you need to do. Why are we now blindly getting into stories while having certain expectations? It makes no sense. It would be like starting Pride and Prejudice, clueless about the premise, but expecting a science fiction story, then giving it one star because there were no spaceships in it.

I couldn’t have said it better myself! People just don’t do research and it lands them in a place they don’t want to be in. I am so glad TH-cam recommended my video to you. I hope you enjoyed. Thank you so much! 😊
