The Junior doctors in malaysia are poorly supervised and trained. It is regarded as a shame to ask a senior help. Hence, many juniors are afraid of their seniors and bosses. This has led to numerous complications and harm to the patients. As a result, the doctors felt unsupported, dismayed, disillusioned, and stressed out. In turn, this creates vicious cycle of bullying, sneering, being unhelpful and unprofessional towards members of the team and other specialties. The misgivings creates rift between team dynamics and patients care is compromised. They are a danger to themselves, their team members and the patients. This is a malignant culture that needs to stop.
short film terbaik yg pernah aku tonton..jalan cerita based on reality..klu realiti, lbh teruk drpd ni..dan kerjaya doktor tak semudah yg disangka sebenarnya..
12:45 damn this will be me in a few months time. I always told myself that this job is just like any other job. Semua pekerjaan pun kena byk bljr pada peringkat awal, kena marah kena tengking. Tapi hakikatnya tetap x sama. Pekerjaan lain x melibatkan nyawa org. Jadi xdela anxious sgt kalau buat silap. Good luck to me!
Aku tengok citer ni kat slot 9X tapi tengok separuh jer cuma tahun 2015 ke 2016 (tak ingat tahun) aku tengok balik..abang aku ada sebelah tanya aku citer apa terus duduk sama..dia belajar medic sebab tu jadikan citer ni rujukan gambaran suasana doktor baru..now dia berjaya
kalau aku, break je cycle pelik alam ni.... ku ajar je junior ho apa yg patut buat dalam wad... sama je management nya... biar mereka get use to it bila berdepan some situation...
the moral of the story is, stand by your principle. willing to accept what's wrong and improve from it and do not succumb to the norms. Being idealistic is fine, but how you cope with the reality makes the difference.
Zaman baling BHT, kena maki hamun, on call berterusan melebehi 36 hingga 72 jam, extension sampai 6 bulan, tinggal di HO quarters yang serba kekurangan, no time for family and friends and even spouses DAH tak wujud lagi. Today, housemanship is so lenient. Kena marah jer, complaint kat pengarah/kat mak bapak. This short movie macam fantasy pulak!
Doesn't mean what u have gone true is the right way. U have gone worse so u should make it better for others and that's how we can progress. Why the doctors oversea have all what u said but their standard of care to the patient is in fact better than what we can give in Malaysia and that same system can train and produce better doctors than our country can. What have done wrong? Mindset? Attitude? Lack of understanding and humanity?
Typical defensive response from those who are afraid to change the status quo. Just because something has been the status quo for a long time, doesn't mean it's the right thing. Change is hard, very hard, but not impossible. Here's hoping that there will be more doctors who hate the shameful treatment given to them by their seniors and will change the current working environment
Pretty much sure everyone had tried to change already. Introducing the shift system is a big step. The MOs are more lenient to the HO. And they still complaint. What is even more frustrating is that they do not progress in their housemanship. If you or your family fell sick, would you want to be treated by a doctor who doesnt even bother checking your GCS? Would you want your senior to ignore you instead of teaching and scolding you? Your choice.
It's good to make a movie about us, we appreciate that, but please do some research and ask the opinion from people in the field. That's not how we do CPR. We don't sit on top of patient's tummy while doing chest compression. That was super awkward and can induce emesis and aspiration. And painful too.
please la penulis skrip, director & semua yg terlibat, korang rasa rawat orang sakit, atau cuba selamatkan nyawa orang yg jantungnya dah berhenti tu sama macam buat pekerjaan lain ke? yang sama adalah perkataan "tolong orang".
I thought both of them have 2 different perception of working as a Dr. In my opinion, both of their ideas are not wrong and may not be absolutely true. The guy perceive that being a HO is just same like other job, but for that girl, she thinks her job is special. For me, we should have both of the perception in the same time but don't be too extrem with our perception
Awesome.... but what is showed here is only 60% but there more worse case senario esp with 'perangai ho yg macam macam....MIA etc...'..... thanks for doing the film....... really dedicated this film to 1st poster....
As a professional member of Pan Malaysian Islamic Party, I pledged that if I came into the position of power , I shall make changes to the current working culture of doctors in the public sector. There will be a cultural and structural reform that will inculcate good behaviour and professionalism, such a culture that encourages team working in managing patients care and treatment strategies. The culture will be sympathetic towards new members in the medical profession. It will consist of support structures that will enable horizontal communications between team members, breaking down hierarchical boundaries as well as religious and racial boundaries that are invisible, yet palpable. I will introduce the same standard of care and kindness of healthcare of professionals in UK and Ireland. Consultants , Registrars and M.O.s in Malaysia will be required to demonstrate the highest degree of compassion towards themselves, the team members, the nursing staff , and the patients. Never will a doctor be required to be in duty for more than 24 hours. All doctors will be entitled for uninterrupted interval breaks in between working hours. All doctors should not work more than 50 hours per week.
Moral injury begins on Day 1 of work. Unfortunately this is not 100% true because the senior house officer that I knew was kind enough to show to their juniors how things roll and the medical officers are approachable, including the specialists. This is an exaggerated version but im not denying the fact it happens just not in every hospital in malaysia. Having said that, to lie about blood results just because you did not find out earlier before rounds: this is very unethical. The fact that they laughed about it show no remorse. When she panicked during resuscitation, that literally killed the patient too because no fluids or medication can be given to the patient. I always thought being a doctor is the only you can help patient or save a life. This is not true and I totally agree with what the senior house officer said. You cannot always save a life; death is not the enemy but indifference is. You must always treat your patient with respect and dignity; not just their disease
expected more out of this, but this short film is just telling me that doctors in malaysia are condescending towards juniors and they have truly awful communication skills...
There's shift work for HO now...gone are the days when you do 36 hours stretch of work. Now with the strawberry generation of HOs if this happens, their parents will start complaining and it will appear on the newspapers.
i don't agree with this at all. doctors should take care of their patient physically and mentally. its not only about to cure their illness tht we could see but, it is about to cure their illness while cure their heart and mindset. oh please doctor be patient. if u r not patient then u never deserve to treat patients. Doctors should be considerate. yeah heaven, I know it is such pathetic but if u do something sincerely, nothing wud disturb ur kindness or whtsoever. I hate looking at the doctors tht hide their smile. its makes me hate the hospital. really. I hope I could see some doctors tht act as the real doctors such in the korean dramas, good doctor. well, just smile n chillax :) just an opinion.

time kecik nak jadi doktor..bila besar kerja lain pun boleh selamatkan orang. patutla nadia khan penulis skripnya.
Nice and very true.. inilah sebenarnya dunia pekerjaan. Penceritaan yg detail.. but some situation, norms is better than do the thing as pertextbook
If her really believe in the beauty of the job, she won't be like everybody else. She will change the environment.
'Kau takyah rasa special sangat' haha penting tu! I like that! Thats how you can cope! 🙋
the reality is true... and this gonna happen for generations ''maybe'' mcm budak asrama baru masuk jumpa senior...
Itulah masalahnya! Anggap kerja murni macam perkara biasa, "passion" dah hilang, makin lama makin menjadi "zombie".
Kalau aku , aku ceramah balik Doktor senior ni .
my lecturer said (and he is a dr) , that the only thing true in this short film is that every job helps people.
better to know rather than not.
Terus teringat Nadia Khan, penulis novel
Takkan semua "Budak Baru" korang nak tenyeh!!!!

think lack of communication is one of the main reason.
Tak payah takut dengan doktor senior ni. Fight back!

What is the message that they want to convey from Azlynn and Azmi's conversation? -_-

Sgt menarik! It tells a lot the reality of HO
