'At i.o2 he said you dont have to get baptised to be saved but God says differently.......''Unless you are born of water and the spirit you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.''
That was a great and helpful study. Hard to believe I got the first comment in. I have a couple questions that I would have loved to ask if I were there. 1. Regarding ordinances, I've heard of some churches that practice foot washing as an ordinance. They don't call it a sacrament as far as I know. What are your thoughts on that and why don't baptists do it? 2. Regarding church autonomy, if baptists believe in that, then what would you call the Southern Baptist Convention? I'm assuming your church is independent baptist, but the SBC is tainted by corruption and politics. I know of two instances where Bill Clinton spoke at a Southern Baptist church, one while he was President of the United States and another in 2017 after the election. If I ran a Baptist church, or any church for that matter, I would not let that adulterer, pedophile, rapist, liar, and corrupt politician speak at my church for anything. Again, I assume you are independent baptist, so I'm sure you agree, but how do the Southern Baptist, Free Will Baptist, and other baptist sects fit into this? 3. Also regarding local church autonomy, I know of at least two other churches named "Bible Baptist Church" in America. If baptist churches are independent, why are there a bunch of churches named that, and how did one make it all the way over to Scottland? Is there a network or chain of independent baptist churches that support each other but are otherwise autonomous, or do people use that name to emphasize that they're teaching the Bible and just add their city name to it? 4. Today, the Religious Society of Friends, aka the Quakers, is now just another liberal denomination that doesn't require a belief in Christ or even in God. That said, however, they were founded as a Christian denomination, so I'm talking about the early Quakers from the 1600s to the 1800s. I think it was around 1900 when they were coopted. Both they at that time, and the Church of Christ today, acknowledge Christ as the head of the church. The main difference with the Church of Christ is they believe in regenerative baptism. Besides that, though, are they autonomous similar to the baptists or do they have a governing body? The Quakers today probably do, but again I mean the early Quakers. I will add others if I think of them, but I think that covers it. EDIT: I forgot something actually. The Amish and Menonites were considered anabaptists, and as far as I know, are still around today. How did they not get included under the "Baptist" banner, and do they have government bodies or are churches independent?
Yes u said right Jesus said da gates of he'll shall not prevail against it. He dt not build it on any denomination but he build it on the Revelation on who He is.
Acts 8:20 “But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.” King James Version (KJV)
May I say that Jesus' first baptism of John was for ministry of reconciliation, which was a type of what Paul reveals (1Cor.10:1,2), that 'that Rock' had come. His actual baptism was 'His death' (Rom.6:3,4) which He refers to in Matt.20:22,23. His blood is the 'new and living way' into the Kingdom (Heb.10:20,22, 9:26,22,20,19,15,14,12). Thus, His blood 'washes us from our sins' (Rev.1:5), and 'redeems us to God in His blood'(Rev.5:9), being a fountain 'opened...for sin and for uncleanness' (Zech.13:1). As a 7thday particular baptist, I do not glory at all in my 'distinctions', but only 'in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ' (Gal.6:14,15,16), and see 'the circumcision of Christ' as my heart being 'buried with Him in baptism, in its 'spiritual understanding' (Col.2:11-13, 1:9,14,20,21). The simplicity of this avoids all 'variances/debates' which are mere works 'of the flesh' (Gal.5:20,21,26). Why should I take pride in the mode of the type, which can only cause 'strife, and divisions', showing me to 'walk after men'?!! (1Cor.3:3). Jesus would say that 'pride, foolishness' of a carnal mind would 'defile the man' (Mk.7:22,23). Rather that we should use the promises, and the faith which they generate in our hearts, and 'cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God' (2Cor.7:1) so that we never 'depart from' the faith (Jer.32:40, 31:33) as so many shall in these days of deception. We have absolutely nothing to boast of, except Christ's love for us (Gal.2:20, 1Pet.3:18,21, 4:1,10,18,7).
