im gay for chris evans I mean, Bucky was the reason Steve picked up the shield in the first place, so laying down the shield for him (twice) probably wasn’t even something Steve saw as a sacrifice. What fucks me up even more is that he basically tried to kill himself twice because he couldn’t live in a world without Bucky. I mean he crashed the plane into the arctic mere days after Bucky fell from the train, and when Steve didn’t think he could get through to Bucky in CATWS he was ready to let the Winter Soldier kill him. That says a lot. Not to mention the thing where he ditched his entire new found family and became an international fugitive for Bucky... Steve basically just really loves Bucky. Like a _lot._
