While Jordan is one of the more moderate countries in the Middle East, no one should ever mistake it for a Democracy. It is still a conservative Muslim state where criticism of the King, Royal family and government is taboo. While women have some more rights than in other countries, they are still rarely found in government or traditional male dominated areas.

It’s not just a taboo, it’s illegal to openly criticize the government in Jordan compared to other countries where their people can openly speak freely about their concerns and views

As a person who lives in Jordan, yes it is not the most free country you’ll find. But women and men are equal here and free speech is existent even against the government. The only reason jordan is so misjudged is due to its neighbors who have more oppressive laws hence why people assume jordan is just the same. Also, the reason the king signed the law was due to very violent protests after some people spread false information. The protests were so violent they killed a few police officers. Thankfully the protests have decreased since the law passed.

@@Recartloaded There's no need to pick out Jordan alone - a whole lot of Arab Gulf states like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, Libya, Somalia and Syria will punish severely anybody who criticises the government. Many other countries like Russia, China, Turkey, Belarus, Cuba, Burma, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Equatorial Guinea also harshly repress freedom of speech and press.

One can also verify the charity at Charity Navigator. This is an organization that reviews the work done by registered charities. It summarizes their fundraising, their programs, and the percentage of the funds they raise that go to program support.

Instead of costly fireworks divert the considerable cost of it to saving the newspaper...

Could Japan finally at least acknowledge their horrendous atrocities committed during the 1930th up to 1945??

If you get to be his age, I wonder how you'd feel if someone said the same about you? Body shaming the elderly and then have the gall to demand to spend others money the way YOU want. Right on Cluster B, right on.

Considering the suicides by teens and younger because of cyber bullying, I can understand the need to put a watch on the inter. Having the rights of parents taken away to push the trans policy, yes, the king has a good point. Someone has to say no .

The aren’t humanitarians, he made it illegal to openly criticize him in Jordan . Majority of Jordanians don’t like him because he’s currupt
