    I started selling my orange neocaridina shrimp for $30 for 10 shrimp. I have already earned $120 in 4 days 😅 I have way over 200 shrimp and they breed like crazy. I’m a student, so this is a lifesaver

    Selling plants is a great way for me to keep investing in the hobby. I sold trimmings for a few months randomly. Then I used the money I made to buy a few tanks and supplies for growing plants and breeding shrimp!

    I just starting breeding some uncommon orange tuxedo koi guppies. They are absolutely gorgeous and I’m so excited to watch the fry grow. I’ll probably be selling them for $8-$10 CAD for fully grown adults. It’s nice to get a little revenue in to support the hobby. I already have buyers lined up for when they’re fully grown.

    I definitely got duckweed from you from one of my plant purchases, Cory. Like you said, it's impossible to avoid in your situation. It would have been easy to mitigate early on had I wanted to, but I kinda like the look of duckweed.

      I run duckweed in several tanks. Gotta be careful not to spread it, but I enjoy it for several types of tanks.

    I love gardening, I would love to have an in depth video about how to plant trimmings.
    cause sometimes i've bought plants from the store and put them in my tank just to die.
    so i feel like i'm not doing something right, do i need the planters cups?
    or should i put it in the substrate, or float it?
    it's rough cause there are so many plants but when i go to petsmart most of the time the person there can't explain what kind of conditions it would need.

    I've got a large planted tank and I'm setting another smaller tank just for plants I'm going to sell/give away. Bleach bath (need to find out ratio and how long), week or two of quarantine and ready to go.
    There's a forum and few other places I can sell them, but I think even LFS nearby wouldn't be against if I brought few giant vals or some fully coloured stem plants like Hygrophila Polysperma or Rotala Rotundifolia.

      Hi Riona if you have a tank with plants for sale without shrimp or crayfish just use flubenol powder. If u have shrimp anf cry fish use half of the dose and do it for the next 4 weeks. If u have any big "show" snails catch them out!! If you have any question send me a message

    • @PaulZyCZ
      @PaulZyCZ ปีที่แล้ว

      Every LFS in my country has snails or snails eggs on them. Farms don't bother, they don't bother. Most snails are benign as they eat algae or detritus, leaving plants alone. It's possible to avoid them with in-vitro or emerse plants (which weren't put into a tank with snails) or do a chlorine bath before planting.
      By chlorine bath I mean putting the plants in bleach solution before going to plant/sell them, but I don't remember how much bleach and how long it should last to kill all the snails, planaria, pests without damaging the plants. Of course there are other chemicals which may work.
      Long time ago I had a surplus of Hygrophila Corymbosa 'compacta' (mini), so I gave away some to a friend. Later he said 'oh, it got full of hair algae, so I threw it out'. Now with large tank and more plants than I need I'm seconding the idea of having a smaller tank with plants just for sale/give away. Basically outward quarantine tank where I can sort planaria or hair algae.

      Hey there! You can check out Girl Talks Fish's video on keeping snails out of plants. She recommends an alum dip

      Alum dip works for me, snails and their eggs. I got mine where the store keeps spices.

      I tried using bleach to kill snails and snail eggs on my plants, can say it worked.
      Sadly, I don't remember the exact amount of bleach I used, but I filled a bucket of water, added the bleach, then dipped each plant for about a minute. Afterwards, I rinsed them and left em floating in a bucket for a few days. No more snails.

    • @victorygarden556
      @victorygarden556 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can find a tank I promise you can afford it. Use an inch dirt, two inches sand. Put it next to a sunny window and give it as good a light as you can afford. Find Local plants. Local fish. Sell either until you can buy red cherry shrimp to sell. Sell those and buy valisneria, Java moss, high grade guppies. Sell high grade guppies and shrimps online and you’ll have hundreds to really expand.

    • @-.Meylin.-
      @-.Meylin.- ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Damn that's concerning, they are so hardy. Mine only died when i removed 98% of them and introduced water lettuce, the water lettuce didn't leave enough nutrients for the duckweed
      So the 2% died

    • @PaulZyCZ
      @PaulZyCZ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've got two tanks without duckweed: 1. Large tank with angelfish and black skirt tetras which all eat duckweed like hungry ducks. 2. Paludarium where only crypts and Java fern grow underwater.
      So I'd say not enough light or some nutrients for duckweed.

    • @lemonlizard1
      @lemonlizard1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same. I purposely bought something similar to duckweed (it's called giant duckweed) it was doing amazing but suddenly started struggling. Now it's almost all red or disintegrating
