And this is why men do not shave their legs. It’s so we can test if we got the edge sharp enough to shave with. And also to feel if crawlers are nearby/on us
Besten Dank, weiter so.
Hallo Hassan, was für ein starkes Video bzw. Messer. Werd mich jetzt auch mal an ein Messer rantrauen. Möchte auch so schöne Messer wie Du haben. Danke vielmals dafür. Gruß Gerry
Hi Habu ,,, excellent knife ,, I always see how to make a knife ,, but your video is attractive every minute ,, best regards from Buenos Aires Argentina
You definitely surprised me. I know you avoid warping from the quench when you do it this way but I’m curious to amount of time taken to complete because of the hardening. Was this just a curiosity project? Beautiful knife either way. Would love to see you do something like a gladius or a tomahawk 😎. I love the way you find interesting ways to make your projects. Great video!
Why did you decide to heat treat before grinding? In my experience it’s easy to work with the softer metal. Bring it to a rough shape, then heat treat. Just curious why you decided to switch the order?
You piqued my curiosity as to why you ground the blade to profile you wanted instead of drawing it out from the forge. What oil are you using for your case hardening quench? I absolutely love your craftsmanship! Keep on keeping on my friend! Are you also on Patreon?
oh I would clear coat the brass while it's shiny, it will get handled a lot and lose it's shine to that black corrosion quickly. Keep the blade coated with mineral oil, food grade if you're using it for food prep, WD40 if not. WD is better, and actually can be ingested by most people, but its actually mostly fish oil, somebody that's allergic to it like me might have a problem from it.
Thanks for sharing. It's always great to see different ways to make "things"...

What a superb ending and knife, but the best part was a blacksmith shaving his leg to test the sharpness. Bravo!

NORMALLY DON'T YOU ROUGH IT OUT SOFT? EASIER TO REMOVE THE MATERIAL...THEN HEAT TREAT..AND TEMPER.
He explains his intent in the description, he set out to do a different take on knife making a reverse process. I think it went great. Cheers

he did it all the way around just cause he could. it was regular sunflower oil. and i think there are better blacksmiths/knifemakers on youtube
beautiful
