Hey Justin, I'm named after this character and let me tell you why he's referred to as Magnus in the show When his origins were first revealed I'm comics, his real name was not yet revealed because all records of it were wiped clean when he was taken by the Nazis and put in a concentration camp as a child. He then took the name "Magnus Maximoff" as his new name after escaping so he could hide. It wasn't until the late 90s that his real name was revealed as Erik and "Magnus" was just a placeholder identity. It was then retconned AGAIN that his real name was Max Eisenhardt and both Erik and Magnus were fake aliases. In the x men show, marvel had not yet retconned the name of "Magnus" and that was believed to be his real name. Ever since the early 2000s, Magnus had never been used again as his name, but the Maximoff name lives on as his two children, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch have it as their last legal names
not just the 90's, the 80's, and the 70's version of Magneto. As you know, different artist draw characters differently. I never figured him for a big muscled guy with his powers and all. But then I was never a fan of the cartoon either. I started reading X-men in the late 70's and stopped around 1990. This is a great figure.
In some runs of the X-Men Comics those rings on the souls of Magnetos shoes help him fly As they are metal, he moves them which moves his body with it and allows him to fly, and control his flight.
I completely get what you're saying about the body type, but as someone who never appreciated Magneto's bulked-up look, this figure is a delight. I know everyone is buff as all heck in comic books but it always felt out of character with Magneto to have this pro-wrestler body while being a mostly cerebral kind of villain.
Great review! This figure looks amazing, may have to track it down. The slimmer body really doesn't bother me, with the powerset that Magneto has he has no real reason to look like a bodybuilder in my opinion.
Two of your observations are a result of you comparing the design of this figure to the 90's cartoon when this is comic inspired. In the comics the gloves are purple. In the comics they somewhat have those seam lines. They are less noticeable as it's the same color as the red(but has a shadow line) but the seam lines exist. I don't know if they extend past the torso. So more of less these are accurate. Size wise, different artists and the times. The 90's especially had everyone big beefy boys with the women lacking organs. I've always figured Magneto was Cyclops size. So I'd say I think the legs are fine but that upper body should be bigger. Also I really like that short haired Magneto.
Great video! As I mentioned before, I really like how you do your videos. Everything is presented clearly so everyone can see exactly what is included. Super job!
I dont think he needs bulking up, i dont think magneto is that physical a character to warrant sizing him up, classics version always seems quite subdued physically.
@@Synthesyn342 I agree, there are many comic depictions of a slim or regular character, but jim lee decided to bulk him up (probably coz he did that to literally everyone on the 90's ) but for some reason it just works Also yes I'm very late
Just did my quick googles and those chest lines are actually fairly accurate, and also checked out wolverine as well. His lines seem more like an ode to his brown costume.
Hi Justin. Great content as always. I think the bottom details on the shoes are "suppose to be" metal rings to give us the idea about how he's able to levetate. That's just my thought though.
Sideshow get bad press and many just see HT as the grail of figures! I own some excellent Sideshow figures and they do have their moments! This Magneto looks great, I own Cyclops and do like it a lot, has presence on the shelf! Great review Justin as always!
I think the panel lines are just to make it look a little more interesting? Kind of like how batman in movies can’t wear straight grey Lycra without looking boring. The simple designs work in comics because shadows and cross hatching along with musculature provide details.
Thanks for the review. Fandom speculates, because he can’t levitate his own flesh and bone he controls metal pieces of his costumes. Why rings, instead of the entire boot sole? Possibly for comfort. Or handy material, in a pinch.
7:12 Yes this guy is begging for a Phicen body swap. He will look so menacing with that body and either head sculpts! Unhelmeted one is a little cooler- Cape looks great as well-
4:50 According to marvel.com his real name is Max Eisenhardt, and while escaping the Nazis when he was younger, he obtained forged documents to change his name to Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, ultimately settling in Israel where he befriended Charles Xavier. www.marvel.com/characters/magneto-max-eisenhardt/in-comics This head sculpt is my favorite of this line by far! They nailed it!
Btw for the uber nerds such as myself, the origin of "Magnus" was his adopted moniker after escaping Aushwitz and entering Ukraine (birth name Max Eisenhardt in this timeline)
Sideshow head sculpts are almost always (in my opinion, of course) pretty rough and my least favorite part of their releases. This one, though? It's amazing, I'm honestly shocked it came from them, wow. Great video as always.
In the tv show the red gloves were a mistake in reality they are purple, so I wouldn't paint them, is more accurate as it is and yes the body could be better, that magneto is another one of the few made by SS that I like, I love those panels by the way.
Hey Justin if you do upgrade the body for Magneto can you please make a video of you doing it and where we could purchase the body so we could do it ourselves. :)

Magnus is his middle name

100% hes totally awesome!
Love that comic sculpt! Not to mention that levitating helmet accessory, so keen!
Yes you need it!
@@JustinsCollection I love your channel!

Oh yes genius!
Was just about to say this, didnt know about the comic accuracy but i approximated their use in flight fairly quickly.
I am so hyped about HONO Magneto that I wanted to rewatch your SIDESHOW version and WOLVERINE too!!!😂😂😂
Awesome! I can’t wait for them!
This may be my favourite Sideshow figure so far. Looks great!
Nice!
Yes the best the hair, the vibe, everything Sideshow know how to nail a comic book style figure!
Nice!

Good point!
This is Already My Favorite Figure from The Comic Book Line
Why
@@4virus1 ‘cause Magneto is AWESOME my guy
Epic!
The only flawless SIDESHOW Figure released to-date.
Wouldn't say flawless!
Great review! This figure looks amazing, may have to track it down. The slimmer body really doesn't bother me, with the powerset that Magneto has he has no real reason to look like a bodybuilder in my opinion.
Fair enough!

Fingers crossed!

I am very late…
But my minds eye is Jim Lee for the X-men in general, so a more bulky Magneto is always appreciated.

I haven't tried it yet

This is the best sideshow figure I ever saw
Awesome!
I just love this Magneto's 90s Action figure
Me too!
I think this is one of my favorite x men figures.
Nice!
Yes!! I really love sideshow. It's the best.

I cant wait for all the other x-men characters

I just ordered the Arkham Knight VGM28
IM SO EXCITED
Epic!
Magneto is my favorite 😍 MAGNETO WAS RIGHT.... MALCOLM X
He’s awesome!
We need this suit design with a Michael Fassbender face sculpt. A mix between the modern and classic Magneto.
True
I am so tempted to get this
Do it!
Justin, if you really want to change the body, I think the M34 is ideal. M35 would be a little too much.
Cheers!
Yes you’re not wrong!
I wish there were better 1/12 scale x men figures out there
Me too!
What a great figure

what a good unboxing

Gooood if only I picked this up when it released
Damn!

Looks great. Just tried to get him but he’s been waitlisted!
Damn!
Ahh still missing him in the collection 😢
Damn!
Just got him for a ridiculous price.. hope hes worth it. BTW did you upgrade to TB or phicen?
Awesome 😎 Magneto! Great 👍🏻 review bro!
Thanks Lynn!
I wouldn't mess with the body swap and take the chance of ruining the awesome outfit.
Fair enough!
Magneto is about 190 lbs
Maybe you're right about the body been muscular but not Arnold Schwarzenegger big. Nice review 👌
I mean its a comic and animated show so there is no real measure as it changes a lot. In the show he was HUGE
I think you should pose him holding is helmet with the head sculpt instead of him wearing his helmet
Good idea!
If this was buff enough it will be perfect
Agreed!
It looks brilliantttt
It does!
I like this figure. Great review man.
Thanks!
very beautifull
I'm looking for it....
do you remember the pre-order price?
Nice, not sure sorry!
Yup, that's magneto
It is!
Amazing vid bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
Why is magneto handsome? He looks too attractive.
LOL
That looks sick
It does!
do you think, that spider-man classic PS4 suit will work with these "classic style" suit?
Hmmm possibly!
Yay my favourite person
Nice!
Can you paint the translucent peice ?
Sure
I hace this figure over a year now and it’s fantastic the way it’s is , the m35 body I think it would be way to big for him
Man he's absolutely jacked in the show
@@JustinsCollection true , like most other characters in the show but he is not mean to be a body builder
I need to know how long does it take to ship these figures?
Depends where you buy!
I’m getting it at toyswonderland.com
🔥🔥
Thanks!
The one without the Helmet
Ok!
Finally!
Yes!
Old link looks like the old guy from up
Lol
Wow
Thanks!
Should I buy spiderman homecoming Ironman endgame or captain America endgame
Your favourite character
I’m the only one that thinks that Magneto’s unhelmeted head sculpt looks like John Cena?
Oh really?
I like quarter scale better
What quarter scale?
I mean quarter scale figures better
Please review Thor endgame
When he’s out I will
How much is a hot toys figure
Depends which one you pick!
yeeeeaaaah
Yes!
I wonder if they have a spider man comic figure
They do not
Too bad
Im starting to think Justin just copies and pastes answers to the comments
He does not, however when the questions are the same I write the same thing!
I was 3 min late
All good!
