(1) Context: the situation (2) Choice: the decision that the character has to make in that situation (3) Consequence: the aftermath of the choice The purpose is to have decision-making main character who has to face the consequences, good or bad.
Saw on your Twitter that you submitted your first short story (and maybe a second one??). Congratulations, that's so exciting! Ahh one step closer to publication, looking forward to the day your stories are out in the world🥰
i love your content!! it is so informational and genuinely interesting!! i'm in the process of writing a fantasy novel right now and i really appreciate all of the writing advice you have! :)
I also struggled too as a young writer just writing scenes that seemed to have no true connection to the character! I think today I'm still a more vibes than plot kind of writer hahah so I learned a lot from this video!! Thanks for sharing :)
It's tough!! One of those things where I always knew something was off but couldn't figure out the *fix* for such a long time. Strong vibes are also important for a story tho lol! Anytime
Lynn you have the BEST writing advice/tips - I've always struggled to know if I'm writing fully character driven stories so this system will definitely help!!

lynn you're slaying these craft videos !!! I love the way you've articulated it in this video--i'm definitely gonna use it going into my next book !! 💛
another great video!! i always focus my stories around characters (maybe bc that's the main kind of book i enjoy reading haha) and it's always great to hear other writers' insight on how they build a story like that ♡
I love Chinese webnovels, especially the Xianxia type, interesting characters, cool power systems, incredible worlds, etc... and now i hope to mix between the Chinese type novels character and worldbuilding with the western plotting to write my own novel.
"consequences are what push your plot forward and develop your character" - great takeaway!
