Oh my god,the Competition Mustang was finally used in a video! 😳 Also, really funny how the band decided to mostly play Incesticide out of sheer spite 😂

That’s just Kurt exaggerating to make it sound more extreme than it was. They only played two songs off Incesticide - Beeswax and Aneurysm. In contrast, they played 9 songs off Nevermind.
This is going to explode in views from Argentina! We love rock and roll and Nirvana! As a fan, thank you so much for doing this video, kurt and the band may hated our guts but this show ended up as legendary, the set list is amazing full of hidden gems and so much rage that specially kurt was feeling, cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Thank you so much my friend! Such a legendary show for so many different reasons. Kurt himself even said even though he was pissed, it was one of the greatest experiences of his life because he played with such anger
Great video Eric! This is probably one of my favorite shows, i don't know why, i just love it. And you recreated it perfectly! Especially the univox ones, it was identical! You're the best!
Kurt: “Before every song, I’d play the intro to Smells Like Teen Spirit and then stop.” Reality: He did that only twice throughout a 22 song set list. Kurt: “We played for about 40 minutes and most of the songs were off of Incesticide so they (the audience) didn’t recognize anything.” Reality: They only played 2 songs that appear on Incesticide - Beeswax and Aneurysm. They played 9 songs off of Nevermind, including Lithium, In Bloom, and Come As You Are, so I’m sure the audience did recognize at least a few songs. Kurt just liked to exaggerate and editorialize things in interviews, to fit whatever overall narrative he wanted the journalists to report. EDIT: Also, the band played for over 80 minutes, about double the time that Kurt suggested in that interview.
He was known to exaggerate and be a storyteller in interviews. Notably for the sleeping under the bridge story, by all he accounts he never actually spent the night under the Wishkah bridge
@ Very definitely. Michael Azerrad has also pointed out that Kurt would often intentionally play down his mainstream rock aspirations & influences, and play up his indie/punk rock influences, because he was self conscious about being viewed as a “sell out”. And that Kurt had a habit of casting himself as the protagonist in a life filled with battling various evil-doing bogeymen, such as small-town homophobes & jocks in Aberdeen, sexists everywhere (case in point, the Argentina gig), and nefarious mainstream media journalists who (according to Kurt & Courtney) were conspiring & lying about their drug use to get their daughter taken away from them.
The Univox is such a cool looking guitar, I'd say it's as iconic as Kurt's Mustang to me. Also, this show is a really a rarity in every way, easily a standout among Nirvana's live shows.
Guys, he did it he finally did it. I’ve been waiting for this for months. Honestly, an awesome show. I commented a little bit back when he got the universe to ask for the stone and and he finally did it. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
@@NirvanaGuitars I was waiting for you to mention that in the video! either way great Thank you for making this great guitar Tone video really made my day especially the beeswax part!
Tone is spot on. However i believe Kurt had the neck pickup on as well on the mustang. In the footage of in bloom you can see it appears the neck pickup is on. I believe it was also on for most of the 93 rio shows too.
Thank you! I've got the neck pickup on during Polly, but for my set up it sounded really off to have it on for In Bloom and Territorial. I got closer with just the hot rails for those, but I don't doubt that Kurt had it on!
I don't doubt the fact that you may just revive kurt so he would play just to get it to be more identical. Oh and btw, can you do the MTV Rehearsal (1/10/92)?
Hello erick nice video! I was hoping if you could do a video history of Kurt's Mosrite could be interesting to know more of the history of the guitar Thanks and hope you'r doing great!
This was an infamous concert because the crowd threw mud and stones to the opening band, Calamity Jane, which caused Nirvana to sabotage their own concert, rightfully so.
Another great tone video from the master himself. This is pretty unrelated but I just recently bought the JOYO american sound pedal as a alternative to a sansamp. Now i can only get it to sound good by cranking the level very high up. Now this is an issue because i run a small amp from my bedroom and cant really turn it up that loud so i end up sacrificing my clean tones entirely. I was wondering if there is some sort of pedal i could buy or something else to change the volume of the joyo without turning the joyo down itself. Thank you
Could you recreate the tone of the show done in Brazil at the Hollywood Rock Festival? At the end of the track Aneurysm, it has a very different sound than the current one. It seems like Kurt was trying out some new pedals.
I have a question. in your concert recreations there is a kind of reverb or something like that are you able to recreate that sound or is it just the venue reverb?
Hi! I’m a sorta new fan and I was wondering if you could do a video about nirvana live at Michigan state fairgrounds if you haven’t already it would mean the world to me if you did
Hi, I love your content! Could you maybe explain or do a video about why kurt or the band always put black tape on Marshall logo’s on their stage amps so you can’t read it? Thanks

@NirvanaGuitars do you know anything about the mustang used in the in bloom music video.
what was the first song that you played?(Univoc reference #1)
This was an infamous concert because the crowd threw mud and stones to the opening band, Calamity Jane, which caused Nirvana to sabotage their own concert, rightfully so.
7:16 The song "Nobody knows im a new" wave is for the secret of Nimh 2 timmy to the rescue one of the worst animated movies ever made

Hey eric im curious, could you use a Regular EQ pedal instead of that mesa boogie pedal you got
Yes! I was using the Behringer EQ700 pedal before getting the Mesa Boogie pedal and it worked really well for Nirvana tones
I have a question. in your concert recreations there is a kind of reverb or something like that are you able to recreate that sound or is it just the venue reverb?
can u recreate the Rotterdam 1991 tone????
Just to let you know, Kurt actually tried playing Territorial Pissings by transposing like standard tuning, instead of playing normally

Lithium chorus is slightly off time. Otherwise, spot on.

Ehy man! I've just bought an aria 1803t witch is the same as the Epiphone et270
This was the show where L7 were booed off the show beforehand and it pissed Kurt, Krist, and Dave off... wasn't it?
Not L7. An all female band who Kurt hand-picked to open the gig, called Calamity Jane.
