With so much horsepower, why do so many burnout cars run such narrow tyres? I would have thought that a wider tyre with more rubber would make more smoke. Cheers

As someone that used to enter burnout comps, it’s not really a problem spinning big tyres… It’s more of a cost thing, it can get ridiculously expensive popping tyres constantly 👍🏾

It is to save the guards when they pop. Tyres that sit far inside mean the belts don't destroy the paintwork.
