Very cool to watch! Im faster at different projects, im suuuper slow trying to read certain patterns or new stitches. Currently slogging through a cardigan pattern written as a chart - I feel a charts appropriate for colourwork, but for double broken rib 🫠 not so much. Im excited for your patterns! 🤩
totally, i get that! i feel like with charted patterns it can just be helpful to read the chart for a few rows to understand the stitch pattern, but after that hopefully i can understand the pattern well enough to not have to read the chart constantly - if that's the case then it can absolutely get annoying 😅 and thank you so much!! i can't wait to share them 🥰
I think I'm a relatively fast knitter, but I know that I don't spend as much time actually doing it. Especially when I compare with how much time I spent knitting as a tween/teen. I sometimes go for months now without knitting. Which is why I would just start your sweater now if I were you and not wait for next season. 😂 I've knit so many sweaters and blankets during the summer. I generally just knit what I want to when I want to. Whenever it gets finished and it's seasonally appropriate, I'll wear it. 😆
haha i totally feel this! the crazy thing is, i feel like i spend a lot of my free time knitting. i probably just compare myself too much to others on social media which is why i feel slow 💀 also i did start on my sweater!! i generally wouldn't care THAT much about seasonally appropriate makes, but now that i live somewhere pretty snowy it would be *nice* to be able to wear a hand-knit sweater before it gets warm...
might be hard to get used to if you haven’t done it before but I always knit with the yarn around my neck how my gma taught me ❤ I think it’s def a way that purling becomes more bearable ahahah
@@midsummerknits yeah! the yarn is coming from the front since it’s around your neck so it’s a lot less work on your hands to make a purl stitch to me it makes knit stitches easier too but I think that’s more preference + reduces the strain on my hands 🙌
I sometimes struggle with going to bed in time, although as I have no kids or pets (and a 9 to 5 job), I really do have quite a lot knitting time 😅 During my commute I have 30 minutes of time on the bus to knit and when I’m working from home, I get up early to have as much as an hour to myself 😊
this is super relatable to me, i know that as i get older (assuming i have kids or at least get a pet) i'll definitely have less time to myself! i should definitely appreciate the amount of selfish time i have more 😅

purl stitch with the yarn held around your neck is so much easier!

oooh how interesting, i've never heard of this!! is it easier because the yarn is positioned differently?

I know some people will knit their piece inside out so they can just purl through the whole thing this way :)
