Thora jada nhi bhai yeh bhi kam hai.. just read about the history of Tatas ...they have built tata memorial hospital, Tata cancer hospital (patients are treated free of cost), iisc bangalore, India's first' Steel plant, taj hotel chain ( India's first 5 star hotel), air india express was tata airlines until govt of india nationalised it in 1953,TCS (India's biggest software company). He was one of the biggest philanthropists in the world. The list goes on but I could only remember these things off the top
Yeah the only thing is id say the whole tata group including Ratan tata have contributed immensely for the growth of our country.
And lately tatas have also entered the semiconductor and defence manufacturing sector.

At age 70 when this interview was done he was still very alert and intelligent. 16years later When I saw photos of him bent over his metal frame emerging from the hospital it look very sad and game over soon came.
I admired him tremendously and he always batted well for his group. He always went full out for group that bears his family name.
Very important interview. Needs more views. Not everything went their way in several states but he could overcome. Hr took the Nano factory out of Bengal and transferred to Gujarat.
In some places his managers were stabbed. Well that is bad. For the 11killed in the hotel they received full salary as if they worked until retirement. Few employers would do that. There are minuses but many more pulses.
In recent times only AJP Kalam and Ratan Tata endeared themselves to the common man. By sheer coincidence both were bachelors.

Ratan Tata was a great person. People and politicians from West Bengal should seriously study about their political agendas. It is not helping them at all. Bengali are intelligent and hardworking people. They make their mark wherever they go but definitely not in and for their state. West Bengal was the front runner before Maharashtra moved ahead. Maharashtra had similar political setup but made different choices and decisions.

In there view captalists are worst than terrorists. Just look at west bengal and kerala or any other state whever there is communist party dominance and tell us how many big companies have their manufacturing units or companies based in these states.
