I’m taking care of my son’s plants which he brought back home ...he is going to move back to his home town from college couple of months later... until then I need to care for these plants... I was watching different videos how to care ... your tips are great👍
you are absolutely right about the cool temperature and the flowers. As a. novice last year I started collecting random plants which 2 were Pilea Pperomiodies. Now living in northern and since I was traveling I left all my plants outside for a neighbor to water them. long story short lost a lot of my indoor plant during the hot summer but these two Pilea among many others not only made it through the hot summer, but they also made it through the cold fall. I must say not knowing any better they were left outside many many nights even heavy rainy rights. And now I see both have these flowering stems which I didn't know why most other Pileas I saw didn't have them and thought it was something I had to cut but thanks to you now I know. flowers from the top and babies from the bottom and leaves going all directions, kinda wild and not so neat which is just the way I like them. lol Great video short brief and to the point and not like my essay here. hahaha
OMYGOD your Pilea is absolutely GORGEOUS, thank you for sharing!! I just got mine last week and I've had mine near a southeast-facing window and have noticed it's getting a little yellowing so I'll move it away more!! My plant drastically needed to be repotted!! I notice that it actually had one stalk with little tiny buds and unfortunately, in the process of repotting, the stalk flower stalk🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼 broke off along with a few stems!! But I've noticed that where the stems broke off the base, there's tiny little leaves growing in their place!! Also it had 6 babies YAY lol, I separated all of them into their own pots!! So I'm definitely happy and I hope they all thrive!!
Oh this very cool I got mine late spring so there wasn’t really a chance to get it to flower, but I’m now excited for winter and next spring to see if mine will flower, my house gets very chilly in the winter so I shouldn’t have to do much.
You are an excellent teacher. I just got this plant as a gift. I will treat it like the Swedish Ivy and propagate and watch for flowers. Thanks so much
To be honest in winter I water 1 in 2 months. More dry in winter about all different plants better they grow in spring and summer. In winter I put my money plant in my bedroom where I don’t put heating on. No sunlight only about 2 meters way from window sill. Is first time and was successful xxx.
A dozen of mine have small flower stalks. Should i remove them to save the plants energy? or put my plants together so the bees can cross pollinate them? Great video.
I love this money plant especially the flowers are so cute.....i'm having a hard time to find who sells this plant. would you mind telling me where so I can buy it.
Hello! Really an interesting and informative video. I have a few more questions to ask. 1. How old is your Pilea? 2. When (After how long) did it start to show the first signs of flowering? 3. For how long do the flowers stay? last Is there a video on growing cotton indoors? I just saw it kept behind you :)
naman singhal Hey thanks for leaving a comment here! 1. I got mine from a local nursery in spring 2019, and when I filmed this video, it was still very small. 2. I saw it developed the flower buds in winter (December 2019?). 3. The flowers stay there till April 2020. I didn’t like them any more so I removed them 😅 I think if I didn’t, the flowers would stay for even a longer time. The cotton? No I don’t grow it indoor. It is a little home decor that my husband and I did together to celebrate our first year of marriage (cotton). 😂
@@SunnySideUpwithNicole Ah! Thank you for the info and a prompt response. I thought the decor to be an actual cotton plant which made me Google if it can be grown indoors and to my surprise one can actually grow cotton indoors. 😉
My money did bloom flowers, in the spring, but I did not see any purpose for it it basically fell off on its own. And after that the baby shoots started to grow extra fast. Can someone tell me what is the purpose of the flowers since It doesn't smell like anything and doesn't bloom fully. And how many times can you propagate from a mother plant
My huge plant ( a meter high and nearly as wide) flowered in December and I'm in UK in an old drafty house !. Since then it has dropped many yellow/brown leaves. It is not over or under watered and been in the same warm bright spot in the house and doing very well for 5 years. It has gone in to a rapid demise since flowering so as a last resort I split it up in to 5 smaller plants and repotted and fed etc. Still dropping leaves ...I think that the mother plant just got too old to live and the flowering was her last hurrah ? Hoping some of her adult offspring will survive but its not looking good. Suggestions welcome.😢
I have my 2 years old and flowered on outdoor but under cover, and look like almost dying out, but after that winter, it regrows again with lots of new babies. few months back I repotted it and removed all the babies, they are growing so well, and I gave few away, now I have 2 new plants are growing nicely but I keep them indoor next to the window.
Overwatering. Try to water it from below instead of on the top soil. It's not fond of too much water and it will rot. I had a huge beautiful pilea that died that way. Also try to keep it in different places in your home to see where it is the most healthiest. Typical when we over water it, it is because it dries up so fast because it's in an area of our home where it's to warm for it - like near a heat source or draft.
They were probably fungus gnats, you can look up treatments for those! One big thing is what Primrose mentioned, because they lay their eggs in a wet top layer of soil.
So insightful. Thanks for sharing, Nicole! It's so rare to see flowers on a pilea peperomioides. :) looks like it's gonna be hard for someone like me who live in a tropical country where it's summer all year round (32°C) to get my pilea to flower.. 😄
Didnt know those flowered! So pretty. Just another reason to love.
I left mine outside on the covered porch and went on vacation. when I came back mid march, all of them were blooming!!!
Mine just flowered and that's why I'm here because I want to know how it flowered 😍
I have never seen Pilea flower before 😍 oh my gosh, it's beautiful.

Should you fertilize also to help it bloom?
I fertilized it in summer. The cold temperature in my house really promote the blooms.
Due to direct sun some of my leafs have turned brown.... Should I remove those or let remain in the pot?
Remove them.
I cannt wait for mine to flower 😉😁😁
i m.noticing tiny flying bugs like fruits flies in and around this plant i bought ,any Tips or reasons?

When you want to water the plant, how much water do you use? Thanks for the great video!
Until I see the water come out from the drainage hole.
Wow 👏 sweet 😍
Good information
why the bottom leaves are yellow? im having the same problem with mine
Too much light will turn the leaves to yellow
My pilea started to flower and I almost cut it off cause I thought it wasn’t good for the plant😅
Thank you.
The leaves of mine turned black
Remember, every plant flowers
💚💚💚
