    Maybe Baker Creek could put together a variety of Jefferson's heirloom seeds and sell it as a packaged collection?!?!? I'd love to see other collections - Urban collection, Homestead collection, Three Sister's collection, Market Garden collection, etc. So many possibilities! :-)

      That would be really great, especially if they could work with the Monticello people for a little history booklet to accompany them.

    No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth. I am devoted to the GARDEN. (T.J.)

      Thomas Jefferson's slaves were the horticulturist, he barely spent any time at home - he was too busy traveling the world.

      @@patriciamitchell9365 I love the story of Edmund Albius, who figured out how to pollinate vanilla by hand. His life story is worth a read!

    This was very interesting! Is there a book in print of his journals?

    Thomas Jefferson's slaves were the farmers on the plantation, not him.

      Please everyone has slaves back there not only him

      Everyone did not have slaves. They weren't paid, but to feed them - house them - at Christmas slaves recieved a new set of clothes and shoes - also farm supplies/seed, etc. You had to have money to purchase slaves.

    “Polygraphs”
    Does she instead mean mimeograph, or some other such device?

    • @margaretd3710
      @margaretd3710 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The literal meaning of polygraph is "many (poly) + graph (writings)" which is what Jefferson used - he'd write with one pen which was connected to another which would make a duplicate. Here's a link which you might find helpful: www.monticello.org/site/research-and-collections/polygraph
