Chord inversions was the term you were looking for. This song is not easy to coordinate, good job! This style of video with split screens is very good.
20 pages?? It's 2 pages long but ok. It's an engaging video. The choice to change the left hand was interesting...I suppose it makes it easier to learn by wrote. I always teach the 2 on 3 rhythm first, by tapping the lap and verbalizing the groups of 3 and then the groups of 2. Improv idea for you: try hearing the 12 attacks per bar (four triplets) as 6 main beats (6 groups of 2) to change the whole rhythmic language. Pretty fun. Not really something for a beginner, though.
Happy to say that a few weeks after I posted this I cracked the rhythmic code thanks to another you tube video that pointed out that when doing the together, right, left, together, sequence, the rhythm should be 1, 2-and, 3, 1, 2 and, 3. In other words the together part is 1, the right portion is 2, followed quickly by the left portion played on the “and” of 2. It sounds almost like a gallop but it makes the notes in the right hand evenly spaced out and symmetrical. I hope this helps others like me. It’s a fun piece that’s pretty easy to play once you under stand the notes are played in the 1, 2, and, 3. This probably makes no sense.
Amazing tutorial, I followed along and can now play this song tanks for you!! How about Mad Rush also from phill glass, any chance you’ll teach us how to play that one? ☺️ thanks again
Hi! Which exercises, specifically? A lot of what I mention in passing is on accordionlove.com in more detail. But let me know which one, specifically, and I can let you know :)
Ah, yes. So, those are the basics. (1) how to build major and minor chords, (2) playing the triads - or voicings - of those chords. I discuss it in more detail in my 15 minutes of practice video: th-cam.com/video/xoXsqttiH04/w-d-xo.html And you can see how to build majors, minors, and voicings, over on the (paid) lesson on AccordionLove, on The Basics: accordionlove.com/accordion-lessons/level1-the-basics/ Also, there's a lesson called 'Advanced Chord Voicings In Practice' that goes into more detail: accordionlove.com/course/advanced-chord-voicings-in-practice/
I've wanted to play this for forty years.
Now I can.
Thank you.
Wonderful, Bruce!! One or my faves!

Thanks. Inversions!
Love the way you explain both - how to play and the background why to play - fantastic job! Tanks for your time❤
What a kind comment. Thank you 🙏
How are you going to go over this piece and not cover the polyrhythm?
There is another video that does that. Watch it. That person doesn’t cover as much of the piece as he does.
Great instructional video Ronen. Cheers. Nice improvisations.
Thanks Keith!

Oddly enough, learning the notes wasn’t really the hard part for me. It was the blasted 2 against 3 polyrhythm which still kicks my bottom
Totally! The timing on these Philipp Glass pieces is sooo hard!

The improvisation at the end! Crazy.
Thanks!
is this piano well tuned?
This piano is from the 1920s and has probably been tuned once since it was built. It still plays well, but could use a tuning and a tune-up.
It certainly is going to "happen over and over again."
One of the reasons it's not a complicated song is because it's not a song.

That's great to hear, Luis! I'll have a listen to Mad Rush :)
Timing beating diferent on both hands are killing me on this song...
This song is bonkers!!! Just take it slow, one chord at a time.
Thank You,Philip Glass, Very Nice!
np!
¡Gracias!
Thank you! 🙏❤️
Thank you for the shortcut. I am going to try it... I love the way you explain the chord schemes and the singing!! tada tada tada bambambam :)
What do you call the Cm chord with the G in the base?
Just a slash chord, I assume. A Cm/G?
Thanks this is just perfect and your a great teacher
Thanks Luis!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Is there a link for the exercises that you are mentioning? thanks!
