Just a heads up, Keep a first aid kit onboard & at least some water in the tank when out & about as the public will flag you down as if you were on the run, (running call), happens all the time, nothing more embarrassing when you tell them it’s been decommissioned & drive off unable to help.
CFS is community fire safety. A is A routine so the vehicle would have been checked over once a week looking at all its roadworthiness and logged as A.
I like the personalisation you made to your Dennis Sabre fire engine. I like the 'EG' crest on the cab, just after the doors; The 'Extreme Garage' logo on the shutter above the rear wheels and above the shutters, the 'Extreme Garage Fire & Rescue Service', where the fire service who owns that fire engine would let the public know where it's from.

Here in Canada you would only need a regular license to run that, plus an air brake endorsement which is only a few hour course & practical test of an air brake inspection. If it had 3 axles you would need a class 3 license which is for any truck with 3 or more axles, up to and including a trailer if the trailer does not have air brakes. Pretty simple test only thing extra is you are tested on the pre trip inspection of the truck. You could register it as a recreational or personal vehicle therefore it is exempt from commercial regulation does not need commercial inspection and you don't have to go into weigh scales.

I would probably import one of the 1998 Pierce Dash pumpers and I would keep it active and have water in the tank for the roof mounted water cannon as I would demonstrate it at special shows. I would keep it and treat it like an active fire truck. Although some roads would be tricky due to its size and weight. But it would be something unique that would be seen in the UK when I was taking it on a leisurely drive.
What insurance did you get for your fire engine as I am having difficulty trying to insure a 2001 fire tender engine. Would hope to hear from you. Btw I have watched all your videos and they are amazing to watch.

Wouldnt be any issue assiting untill the fire service turns up. Every second counts. If you saw something you'd assist if you can if you were in a car or walking past.
Noticed you have a Standpipe key and bar with your kit! If you connect to a hydrant and take water out of the mains, you have to inform the water authority, the fire service have legislation for the provision of water for fire fighting, not just anyone can take water from the mains.
Fred Dibnah didn't worry about the legality of connecting to fire hydrants to fill up his steam roller while out and about on the public highway. In fact, he said he'd cleaned out many where muck had built up under the hydrant cover that obviously hadn't been cleaned/serviced for many years. He was doing the fire service a favour if they were needed quickly in an emergency.

Altho it is Mot Exempt it must be road worthy or you will charged with driving a vehicle that is not road worthy. If you do not look after it means daily checks. I reckon you already know this tho. Hello Question sorry. Are you aloud to use the lights and sirens when you want, or are you just aloud the lights, I'v been saving up for my own engine about 2.5 years saving now for a 80's engine hope to get it next year.
Im guessing you are referring to the one in the background? It is not actually for the engine its just a normal ladder and that's where I keep them at work :-)
agreed the tax is zero rated not null rated. Null is also infact not a number as it wouldnt parse into an integer if we are talking about computers. ;-)

Dad worked with an identical 97 built Sabre in Hong Kong as a fireman before he retired 10 years ago, bring back all the good memories

Yes I have noticed a few little things that work one minute then not the next. TBH quite entertaining rather than annoying.
they are certainly interesting, just don't let the fuel drop below quarter of a tank, you will regret it!
one thing of fun is that taking the purple wire out the back of the fuel guage gives me a full tank reading.

The heaviest fire engine I know of is a 26t machine with a 12 (3 over 3) manual gearbox and i do believe it was a Scania 4 series.

however the is a fire engine you can own and drive only on a C1 license made by bedford as i own one (Green Goddess Fire Engine)
Ssc might mean special service call. Things like cat up tree, people locked out or stuck in lifts etc

The lightbar is set up wrong. The 4 halogens each side faced forward.
Im definitely going to investigate this. The wires were just cut and ive had to work it out which was difficult.

Where would you get replacement tyres from tho for the fire engine
There are a couple of places I can think of off the top of my head that do tyres for lorries
Any commercial tyre supplier they aren’t nothing special
I think they are fairly standard tyres for the size of vehicle, anywhere that caters for LGVs will probably have them or be able to order them easily
