Business people in China are fast becoming prime investors in foreign countries and they are excelling in their ventures. They solve problems and redress whatever weaknesses they have including language barriers. That said, it is unlikely China's economy will collapse.

Excellent commentary Jerry, China consistently never ceases to amaze. As you know, Guangdong was historically among the poorest regions in China which served to drive the Chinese diaspora to the West. It was Cantonese "coolies" who played a huge part in buidling American railroads during the industrial revolution. They settled in many "Chinatowns" many of which still remain. It is indeed gratifying that today's GD has become so prosperous and an economic growth engine driving China's ever evolving and influential presence in the world. Thanks!!!

No matter how confusing the world has become, the Chinese compass will not be influenced and deviated Jerry. The Chinese’s struggles from 1949 to 2000 solidified their resolves. They barely escaped the 100+ trillion U.S. dollars debts from the American banks post 1949 incurred by the KMT and the Qing dynasty. They saw the true extend of suffering should they drop the ball again, Jerry. What you’re witnessing in China is history. What the Chinese people could truly be, if they weren’t weak and in heavily in debt.

They do publish it in China, and it's issued by the Minstry of Foreign Affairs as well as the State Council Information Office, which is my go to source, the problem is, they are both a little slow posting news, so we can usually get it from CGTN, the Global Times or China Daily's English sites before we get it formally through the government and Western media ignores completely any good news that from them

It is fair to say that living in the west is prohibitively expensive. Eating out is costly both for meals and tipping. Groceries on average cost 50 dollars just for modest quantities. Housing is impossible to buy, or even rent, for that matter.

I want to add some tidbits for your information, I just finished attending CES in Las Vegas, and surprised surprised, I felt 90% of the exhibitors are now Chinese, (it’s easier to converse in Putonghua than English in many instances) and 90% of them are from Shenzhen! Even the big show floors are now Chinese, such as Hisense, TCL, XPeng, etc. the next big exhibitors are South Koreans which reduced to around 8% where they used to dominate to more than 50%! Even the small Chinese booth that occupies the Eureka park are now in the main halls. The whole South Hall and Venetian Exhibit are now dominated by Chinese companies! All the while American (especially the Biden Administration) has been making it difficult for Chinese to do business here, Ironic isn’t it? Thanks for your reports again and all your inputs❤

Thanks Jerry for the round up on 2024 update and the prospect of China growth for 2025. I'm glad to hear that all those dire predictions from the West were only their own projections. As it turns out, I too believe, that if China keeps reinforcing its internal consumption at the expense of exports to the West and speculative mega real estate investment, a more balance economy will emerge providing sustainability throughout future growth. That's because China long term vision is backed by a solid plan and the discipline to enact it, which the West totally lacks. It's just a matter of time before the EU market bellies up leaving a void to be filled. It happened almost always consistently with the US handling other country's trade. They can't stop thinking about ransacking them till there is nothing left to profit of, leaving chaos behind. With the US tariffs on imports, the inflation in the EU will exacerbate, with energy cost tripling and price gouging on all consumer products, I predict that the EU will close its doors slowly to the US and turn to China for salvation. However it needs to admit defeat and stop the bleeding in in Ukraine before it can reopen trades with Russia and China. There is going to be a gestation period to absorb the reshuffling of Eu leadership before it happens. Perhaps the US isolationism will benefit this re-organisation so needed. A Milei ironically stated, it needs to get worse before it gets better. China picks up the crumbs the US left and fills the voids to grow back dying economies. They make strong partners this way and the global south is tuned to its achievements. 2025 will definitely be full of surprises. Hopefully the Middle East will be able to acknowledge some peace within this time frame depending on how the US behave from now on. Let's cross our fingers!

I'm fairly confident although I'm certain there will be a stall in February for a few months, perhaps even a year or two as Trump tightens screws on the global economy - having said that, I'm certain after a year or two of lower numbers, China will be back as the Global South markets really pick up
