Man I REALLY wish there was an affordable commercial version of the grease gun. Unfortunately it would have to be a semi auto 16" barrel. Although if there was a retro looking braced version it would be awesome. Basically I just want a grease gun without all the NFA BS...no biggie lol. I think he did alright on this build all things considered. I like it.
It's beautiful! An idea from me: Replace that barrel locking nut with one that doubles as a large kinda-almost-integral suppressor that goes over and past the barrel.
Watching this video and reading through the comments and for some reason I realized that I am here because of Kentucky ballistics being a mechanic with a son about his age I have an attachment to them. I kinda hope that he and I can get along as well as Scott and his father, but like they say god closing a door opens a window sometimes, ehhh it’s all good 👍🏻 but funny how a horrible accident can turn into something good when it’s all said and done but it was great seeing the gun tube community for the most part come together and be the kind of people that make this country better than the rest of world alright enough with the sissy feelings and what not get back to work fellas 👍🏻👍🏻
You know, as a professional welder and LNG welding superintendent, it's great to see people having a go and doing just fine. What I really think is pathetic is someone (especially a self-taught welder) laughing at someone else's work. Someone having a go at an actual job, instead of stroking an ego.
Not sure why Royal Nonesuch didn't just use the Grease gun or Ppsh-41 style drop sear given that this is an open-bolt "fast semi-auto" design. This might require a longer receiver though, maybe he didn't want that tradeoff. Or just wanted to use that spare AKM FCG. I personally love those WW2 FCGs, not just because of simplicity but because of how thin and short their height is compared to most hammer-fired FCGs. Great video, Mark. Big thanks for the high speed footage especially. You're a big inspiration.
The mag release is in a perfect spot. Shoulder the firearm then grab the magazine and hit the release with your index finger. That allows your finger to open a mag bag or pouch and drop without looking.
It looks like a modern Sten. It isn't high art but these things are not meant to be finished as European shotguns. The only confusion is someone with these resources had the right legal paperwork to show this off on the internet? I am very impressed.
I like how the bolt doesn't slam the receiver on the rearward travel. Very nice. Looks very smooth. I dare say the ejector is too far forward in the ejection port, making the short case flip too much before it gets close to the deflector or the ejection port. Any adjustability fore and aft to play with that?
Honestly his best build so far. Come on man, remember your first welds. I know you love him really and you're just joshing him like the head chef and his commis 😅
Semi-free country. Still have to have a special license to make something like this and it's not legally transferable except under very limited conditions.

For cycling a reliable inelastic rebound is just as effective as a spring... also as far as we're seeing he's batting 2:0 for working designs... you're at what, 5 and 12? 8P
As a TIG welder, he’s probably moving to slow with not enough heat and cooking the steel causing the porosity… more heat and moving faster will prevent that.
Romanian side folding stock. and they aren't bad really, way better that the Egyptian side folder. Looks like it could use a bit stiffer recoil spring or maybe use a double spring. If it works it works.

It looks hand made. Personally I think that's awesome! Go ahead and call me crazy if you want, but it kinda reminds me of something I'd see in the video games Fallout 4, or Metro series.
Needs a stopper on the bolt face to stop the case head from sliding too far up on the bolt face, and a recess in the breach face for it to nest into in order to stop the wiggle effect. I suppose that the recessed place in the breach face could then foul up and prevent the bolt from closing completely, causing light or non primer strikes. Some thought would need to be put into the design of it.
Making a TIG weld look like a stick well, is the sign of a truly talented welder, because no one could screw up a TIG weld that bad without doing it intentionally😂😂😂
