      @Tia H But sista, hasn't he been putting in that work at the ground level? Hence the reason he won an award at the BET awards? :D I understand why sistas would feel upset with him IF it is indeed true that he's dumped his wife for a white lady. Especially after he made them comments about us having to do better for black women. BUT, all that seems to be is rumours right now. I still haven't seen him and the blonde in question together in public yet!!!..has anyone else????

    • @Klgray7373
      @Klgray7373 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Micky Mouse I've seen them photographed together. I need him to say it before I believe it. Watch the JayZ "documentary" about men being faithful to their marriage. It has many black men celebs & he is one of them

    • @jtsmith4255
      @jtsmith4255 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Micky Mouse BET awards is giving to elite black folks not grassroots blacks folks in these streets doing things that Jesse Williams have not done and will not do in his life...I agree with the comment above "actions speak more louder than words" to many black folks speak from a dictatorial stance (like ms rye) saying that people like Mr Williams is great for saying such things about black folks...it sounds good...but where is the action behind the speech...MLK is far different from the folks that stands for "pro blacks" besides getting large speaking fees/commentary salary he believe in his heart that blacks should be apart of the society and not separatist...I believe today...if MLK and Malcolm X was here they would have something to say about the progression race relations

      Bomb Cherry Hun no disrespect, but his messege can't be communicated as well as it could be if he had the stregnth to maintain his black family. Or if he really thought black women were queens, beautiful,wise etc. by being with whom he says he admires so deeply.

      . She would be considered the angry black woman and she wouldn't have the same support. It's good to speak on the outside oppressor but what about the in house oppressor in our own community? Self hatred is real in our community and we need to address that!

    It's interesting that people are saying Jesse's relationships are off limits, yet we speak about single mothers and a women's level of sexual activity or a black woman dating another race as a personality trait.
    Also go to about 26:20 and listen to his comment about black men getting in their way in order to progress, but they really aren't. Dating a white woman or whoever you want is similar - you think you are making progress by loving who you want, but you are impacting the community. It does have an impact on the image of black women even if that is not his intent.
    This is a conversation that we do have to have. Black women do have to date outside of our race to balance the scales. Black men do need to protect black women to balance the scales.

    Great interview, a lot of insightful things were said. Let us all look at the positive from our people, embody what is good and be the change that we want to see in our community. And recognize that putting each other down is a pure waste of time and the oppressor's job. Doing the oppressor's job for him is another form of slavery. #BlackUnity

    Thank goodness the white woman he is now going out with if true doesn't look at him the way the angry black women on here seems to be doing.
    He have a white mother and a black father that makes him mix. Props to him he embraces his black half more and with the blessings of his white mother fight for equality rights and justice for Black people.
    If his mother can accept him and all that he has done so far and not be upset 😭 who gives these angry black women on here the right to pass judgment on him.
    So what if he walks away from a black woman his wife. It's his choice he is no longer happy with her and their relationship. Why should he stay happy to please black woman.
    He is happy and free to love ❤️ whoever he wants and thank goodness his mother brought him up in such away he is comfortable within himself.
    Listen to his messages and stop trying to tell him who to love ❤️.

    Angela, that was a good interview with Jesse. Both of you are "woke", Angela if I can borrow your term.
    I was in the states when Jesse received that BET award. And I was glued to the TV watching it. That was when I took notice of Jesse. But with Angela, I had been watching you on CNN when you worked with that network. You displayed "gust" in pushing your messages across everytime. This was when I knew, you needed your own platform. I am so glad you have had it all these years. I moved away about 3yrs ago to my country of birth--Ghana. Hence, I miss most of those broadcast as my focus has shifted to the continent of Africa news.
    Once in a while, I catch with the other part of world's news.

    America/The Americas referred to as the "land of the north" (Jeremiah 3:18) in the bible is the land of our(the people of the bible brought here on cargo slave ships) punishment by our power- the most high. The speakers rebellion against the continued oppression is natural, however they r seeking to solving it by protesting, making speeches, marching etc. King, Malcolm, Garvey etc all failed. No man will ever free us from our punishment (Deuteronomy 28:68). I suspect that the world u operate in, a world pursuing success, measured by instruments of your said oppressor. Bearing in mind u live in his kingdom & do get & go to him for everything. Even the validation of your success. The awards, his degrees from his university & his dollar bill . Being in the world & of the world r very different. Seeking the bible might be something antithetical to the way u think best in seeing an end to what we have been experiencing for 400 years come 2019. (1619 the first slaves came to America). Take up a King James Version & start digging. Note NOT religion. The bible is a book of laws statutes,commandments & judgement given to the children of Israel.
    Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
    Genesis 15:14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
    Zechariah 11:5 Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

    Why he not allowed to be attracted to both...we stay tryna segregate. His agenda is to be a voice for our community and what we go through and to put everyone on to how kick ass black women are (for those who are still sleep) but hes not about further segregating us. He can like a white woman and be attracted to a white woman, Spanish, Asian, Indian etc., why we not giving him credit for being in love and married to and having children with and devoting a good portion to sharing his life with a black woman??

    It's always a pleasure to hear you, Angela. Also, it's always a pleasure to hear this brother as well. It puts a smile on my face to know there are "woke" young folks carrying on the message to liberate the minds of black folk as well as people as a whole. Push on and I look forward to hear more from your podcast.

    I'm not going to lie, I'm on the fence about him. Because I don't care what anybody says, there's no black power in yt p@$$7. But I do like what he's saying because it is truth... but then again, the former. So _shrugs the shoulders_ conflicted.
    But mostly f*^k him because I feel duped.

      jade:
      But what the hell does who he's with have to do with his being an activist? He was into activism before he was a father and a husband, and he still is. Who he's with is nobody's business but his anyway. He still has a lot to say,regardless of who he's with.

    I would like him to speak his truth if he deemed it our business about his personal life. At the moment I don't believe the media regarding the details provided regarding his personal life. I think after he made that speech on BET they are trying to discredit him and his position on the black movement.

      Navarro I somewhat agree however, if you don't practice what you preach can you really preach? Better yet will people listen? We have been introduced to soo many "lil Wayne's" we screen and question when someone stands up for us. We want to know their motives, I want to see if he wins an award on another network besides BET would he have said the same speech? Also was he not on Jay's album saying how a rumor was going around about him divorcing his wife over some girl at work cause she pretty?! But I see he got that divorce though

      Skintales actions speak louder than words and his personal business has everything to do with his mission.
      What's the point in talking black and sleeping white?
      Another one bites the dust as far as Im concerned, if you're not pro black women you're not pro black people

      Your personal business has everything to do with the mission. Your personal business usually guides your mission to a degree.
