Thanks for posting I gonna try these trolling tactics next time out. Been mostly casting a lot but in Georgian Bay there is an abundance of rocky structure so now that it's Fall going to give trolling a chance.
Not in the false north buddy, water gets too hot for big pikes in summer/late summer, so you do need to troll or jig them at some point, casting them in shallow weeds in summer is not the good way to fish them. That is if your looking for BIG pikes tho
vincent picotin I'm from Yellowknife, NT. No way the water gets too hot up there! Just cast off of shore or an island and its unlikely to catch anything under 15 pounds. I agree with you about the water getting too warm for southern Canada. It makes the meat soft and mushy with Pike, therefor one must troll. However one would be far more likely to catch a big trout while trolling, in my experience.
Beautiful video.

Contour trolling the only way to go when on new water Pattern trolling once you map deep structure

Trophy Pike in northern Ontario? Lol. Come to the true north, Yellowknife.
Also, no need to troll for Pike, just cast away in some shallow weeds.
