Next time you buy work boots, try Wolverine---they are insulated and water proof, I use to work construction in New England and Wolverine was the best----they need no break in and are very comfortable!!!

Becca, you’re amazing. You work very hard, you don’t complain, you are skilled at what you do and you’re an awesome dog mom. One suggestion. Please try getting a cooler for some basic fresh fruit and vegetables. Your fast food diet is not healthy. Grab some carrots, celery, broccoli crowns etc. You absolutely need nutrients from fruits and vegetables. Apples, oranges or halos (tangerines), bananas etc. Not dried (bad for braces). You will feel so much better. Try to cut the soda and fruit drinks down and get filtered water. You’re young and don’t have symptoms yet but keep up the crap and you will have problems in the future. Good luck and safe travels.

I was 30 years veterans, but never doing flash bed, I done 5 years of floats, with heavy equipment hauled. It only took me 10 chains or lessss Never tarps, tight, strapped. I’m so proud of you. Keep trucking Becca

Boise Stage Stop exit 71 on 84 is a great place to stop if you’re stuck in Boise. Large shower rooms, workout area, theater area, wide variety of food in the restaurant, overall great place. As far as owner op and company driver, I went back to driving for a company. When fuel prices went up, and load rates went down, it wasn’t worth it anymore. After spending tens of thousands fixing one thing after another on my truck, routine maintenance such as getting new tires, and things like that, then finding out I need a new engine, I went back driving for a company. Sometimes it’s better to work for someone than be an owner op

I hated load levelers,but I enjoyed pulling a step deck at the same time except when dispatch wanted me to haul loads that should be in a dry van.That being said,it taught me a lot about load securement.Whenever in doubt use more straps or chains.

Hi Becca: Glad to see you back at work and I hope it stays on the rails with your company. Interesting to hear your pay info. This is usually the secret stuff nobody talks about, or you just hear about the "huge money!" trips and not the regular trips. Decent money at a hair over $.70 per loaded mile, drop pay included, with the load paying about $3.30 a mile to the truck. I would assume you get your regular percentage regardless of the need to tarp or the number of drops, etc. As we have seen, some of your loads, like everybody else, don't pay as well (for our current market) as this one so maybe this rate to you is at the high end of your average? As drivers are in demand, especially deck drivers, I hope you are getting some stuff on top of your percentage, like holiday pay, benefits, and a few perks. Oh, and I hope sharing the numbers doesn't come back and bite ya. Travel safely.
