What a great idea to use the canvas. I'm using a discbound system for this trimester at university and was debating with myself what I would want to use as cover, since I do not like plastics so much, but wanted it to be a bit sturdier than carstock. Great inspiration, thank you!
Only thing I worry is I might not find the right size of canvas. But its a great inspiration anyhow. (:

Yes the canvas is nice and sturdy, definitely try dollar tree if one is available or your local craft store! Wish you the best of luck, thanks for watching 😊

Fabric glue like the loctite one that is made for viynl works even better than hot glue or jb plasticweld works the best but is a little harder to work with.
I also made my own covers by using recycled leather glued down onto thinner chipboard, then punched the stitch holes with a leather awl around the edge to make it look nice and to gold the cover together better.
After making 4 covered pieces of chipboard I sandwiched a piece of the cutting mat in between 2 of them glued them down then stitched around the edge again going thru both pieces.
with some patience and practice they can look amazing just like the nice leather covers they sell for the TUL brand.
Pretty much anything that will go over chip board can be used, if I use paper I will seal it with either matte mod podge or a spray sealer to protect it from any spills or wear and tear

PVC placemats work wonderful for covers as well. They come in all colors and patterns and can easily be punched with a trusted Staples discbound punch...

If you put the double sided sticky tape onto the magnetic backing first you can for sure get the corners and align everything faster and easier

Really cool video! Keeping the magnetic backing blew my mind!
