Saw these guys in Grand Rapids for Winter Jam 2012. This song is my inspiration for letting certain things go. These past couple of years I have been a hypocrite and been going down the wrong path and it's time I get myself together with God's help.
The song is about the lead singers 3 year old nephew that died of cancer. And how god helped show the family that they need to cling to him even in dark times
The lead singer had little nephew who had cancer in his bones, hence why it says "cancer in my bones" he later died of it and they made a song for him. They explain it in the unplugged version of the song.
Justin Cordle sounds a bit like Benjamin Burnley in this song. I haven't heard so many others songs from We As Human, but from what I've heard this is the only song i feel there's a little resemblance, especially in the chorus. Anyway, amazing song and band!
Justin Cordle actually wrote this song about his 3-year-old, Tyler, who had just lost a battle with cancer. What inspired him the most to write this song was what Tyler's mom said about it after wards which was "People are really sorry about Tyler losing his battle. But I don't think he lost his battle; I think he won it, and he's with his creator, and the cancer is dead." I'll let you interpret that how you want to but just look over the lyrics again before you do.
well, as he calls out in an acoustic version of this song that they did, he actually wrote the song about a relative that died of bone cancer at only 3 years old (Cancer in my bones, you wont let me go, so it's you I sever)
Русский перевод этой песни для русских зрителей. Russian translate of this song for Russian viewers.
It's a normal 4/4 and the chorus is halftime ;) there are some weird accents though. When written in 8th notes, the intro is somewhat like this ("p" means played, "m" means not played, caps are accents) : |PpppPppP|mpPpPppP|mpPpPppP|mpPpPpPp| The melody in the chorus is a quarter triplet, so that is a bit odd, but it's quite easy once you get understand it. Hope that helps, if not: don't be affraid to ask, I can put it on tabs and email it to you if you really don't get it (if I can have you email adress of course). Doing it yourself is better of course ;) Good luck!
I have trouble deciding between this version and the new version from 2013.. I like the background vocals that sound like as if it was on the other side of a radio or something. I like how the soft bridge is in acoustic rather than clean electric. But the NEW version has just a better sound balance ratio to it, and I like the scream vocal part alot... If only the two could be mixed together
really?...didn´t know that... sry then for commenting this ^^...also did´nt know skillet es christian too...i was listening to christian rock all the time and didn´t know it...even though i don´t believe in that stuff...well...melody is good .-.
that jesus stuff on the end doesn´t really seem original...erm...buuuh...we don´t want jesus stuff in our rock musik unless its christian rock >.> and i believe this is not christian .-. is it?

Blacktrendz fly

WoW! I luv this!
Wonderful sound and great message.. It's a wonder this song/band isn't as popular as Skillet (or anyone similar!)

Look up Sever We As Human Unplugged. The video on their official channel explains it.
It's about his 3 year-old cousin who lost his life to cancer.
potente
this is like a prequel to dead man
Refresh my memory. What's at the end?
@Panhead4Life97 change your mind about this being their best song. New album is gonna rock your socks off
Would anyone be able to tell what time signature this song is in? Trying to tab it on guitar pro and it's doing my head in. -_-

why did i flinch when it said christ is the one true king?
I do have broken inside. I have all three albums and the wanna go single. I have a cool idea for broken inside. Stay tuned!

What is the song about
His nephew, watch the unplugged version and he explains it
Didnt start finding out cool things with animation until around the end. The next ones will be so much better. I promise!
I saw an interview and I think it's about a cousin (I think) dying of cancer
2018 anyone?
really?...didn´t know that... sry then for commenting this ^^...also did´nt know skillet es christian too...i was listening to christian rock all the time and didn´t know it...even though i don´t believe in that stuff...well...melody is good .-.
Is it just me or does this guy sound remarkably like Benjamin Burnley from Breaking Benjamin
Whilst I agree with the thing at the end, that's not at all what the song is about
But not quite at all, they are a christian band with a different purpose rather than just entertainment
the lyrics are hard to read
that jesus stuff on the end doesn´t really seem original...erm...buuuh...we don´t want jesus stuff in our rock musik unless its christian rock >.> and i believe this is not christian .-. is it?
Actually, it is Christian.
