- Hey guys it'sa me, Tiago the french inline skater and today we finally got the opportunity to skate with Asha! it really was a pleasure to skate around with her!

I've gotta learn how to skate backwards like her! It looks so fun, and the way she does it, so smoothly, is just so freaking satisfying

I'm working my way to stage 3 right now and can confirm that it's a great building block before learning how to push yourself into backwards skating (or jump into it for that matter)
@@kiriappeee I actually learned how to skate backwards the same day I posted my comment😂 it only took me a good 5 minutes.. plus 5 to become really fluid with it😎
Asha's experience as a coach and pro really shines through in this video. Her efficiency is so high that moving at fast speeds for extended period of time barely have her breathing hard. Every crossover has an under-push to it so she gets two pushes in almost a single movement. Thank you so much for making this video. One of the best flows of Asha's out there on TH-cam.
Your video made me start to cry around the 8:00 mark, and I wanted to say thank you. I spent most of my life inline skating, starting in the 1990s. In 2016, nerve damage to my legs as the result of a disease forced me to stop. I’ve been dreaming about skating, and the vibe of your video and the music brought me back to feeling of being on the streets again. So many good memories. Maybe with training and hard work, I can get back in my K2s and get to the streets again someday. Thank you and Asha for taking me back there. Maybe we can skate together in heaven.
Asha seems to be gliding on air. It looks so smooth that it looks fake, amazing watching her skate. Another amazing video and the song at the end was a good mix. I like the collaboration videos. Keep on skating!
I love how Asha is always wearing protection
It's like wearing a seatbelt when driving. You know how to drive, but you never know when you need it anyways. It's not always up to you.
You've heard her, she has injuries and not allowed to fall ! (the no more stairs part)
Something about why I got hooked in to inline skating is that first time and most of the time when I saw someone inline skates no matter how old he she is is that they exuberates that young vitality like a young kid. Like being young fresh and free.
Asha, I love the smoothness and fluidity in your skating, even doing the simplest things.

Awesome video! It was really interesting to see triskates and 4-wheel skates side by side. Asha was gliding so dreamily with very few strokes, and Tiago was much more active and "zippy."
That's mainly from the difference in # of wheels and diameter of the wheels. He has an extra one at a smaller diameter which allows him to be more agile and light on his feet, the tri setup with bigger wheels allows for faster more consistent speed and smoother pushes from the added stability they provide.
I think that's partly because of their different styles too, even if they had each other's frames we'd still notice the same difference in their skating.

You guys are really awesome skaters! It's nice to see Asha just having fun. Your city really has beautiful skate venues.

Honestly the UK is a great place (I live in London myself) but in terms of skating it looks like you're much better off in Paris.. the grounds look so smooth. Cool video btw, Asha is a great skater :)

You guys are both amazing and have brought back my love of it - using time in lockdown to practice and it's been the best thing I've done this year :) (Also Manchester UK is a cool city for skating in places, I need to travel more with my skates when I'm more confident!)

I find stairs scary forwards, but impossible backwards! What Asha says makes total sense (about your hands being totally able to catch you before hitting your face), but it's quite hard to convince my brain of that fact! Meanwhile I'm just trying to practice backwards skating as much as I can; these days I'm mostly trying to achieve the backwards drag or T-stop. I never thought I'd master the powerslide before that simple thing...😅
On a brighter note, thanks mostly to Asha's tutorials I'm getting comfortable with the... plow with steps..? Cuña con pasos? Really easy, effective and wheel-saving breaking/slowing down method, as well as secure even in wet surfaces.
The only reason I don't use it more is that it feels a bit ridiculous-looking when not going fast, like I was just very awkwardly walking downhill on my skates 😰😅
AND that when my dog is on the leash she still have problems with that concept, and we often trip over each other when I try 😓

I skate down stairs like the guy. Backwards compliments the way the ankle pivots, but that's it.
Sometimes it is not very easy to find skating venues. Amazing the places we were shown here. Regards from South Spain to all skaters in the world, especially Asha, my inspiration. Always

Really? Whereabouts? I'm in Oxfordshire and I'm the only outdoor skater in my region (it may be one of them "I'm the only gay in the village" LB deals, who knows). Would love to hangout with other skaters.
@@HarmonicaMustang yup during the weekends in the afternoon to evening in London, Hyde Park Corner. Lots of inline skaters doing slalom, slides and just going up and down the smooth floors in the park. Very friendly environment

As someone in the UK I wouldn't recommend it for skating with others. London or Manchester are the only two places that come to mind where you'll find other skaters at weekly hangouts etc.
