I agree with this, but these passive aggressive managers can still just get rid of you for no reason if your employment is "at will". I wouldn't bat an eyelash at a passive aggressive person in my personal life, but when that person is signing my paychecks, they can make me sweat bullets 8 hrs a day 5 days a week.

I hear you, and I've been there. The flip side to this you can't read their mind. You have no way of knowing what bee is in their bonnet no matter how hard you try. Concentrating on doing your job well (at least until you can leave) is the only thing you can do to help yourself. You may never be able to fully control the anxiety being around this person causes, but if your anxiety spirals to the point where you can't do good work, then you have two problems.

In canada we have a step up from at will in that they need to give a reason for layoff after 3months and pay severance of 2 weeks per year of service. Also i had a boss who would be nice one minute but the whenever he needed something, he would call every 5min to until something is done. And he also expected during the workday i would be working every second of 8h day

As someone with an anxiety disorder, I wish it was this easy to fix. 😂

Yeah coz I'll be anxious till I find out if its a them problem or a me problem. And then overthink about how it will eventually become a me problem and then its a loop 💀

A lot of people make fun of these kind of vids but in all honesty I don’t have much people to coach me like this constantly - therefor this video was truly helpful. ❤

This is such a vital piece of information and if you're not anxious it can seem obvious, but it's not. Even if you're not anxious yourself, try to remember this one, to pass it on to anxious friend or coworker. Adults who worry about getting in trouble all the time often have reasons for that, and it's not your job to fix! But it is a kind thing to do, and even if they're only your coworker, it may make working with them easier.

I work for a manager that is easily belittling people and scold someone publicly if they made mistake. So, this happened to me a lot. Sometimes, I feel demotivated, but until I found a better job I must survive this way. This video helps. Tq

Shit... reading the comments here i am so glad im not alone. I got a voicemail today, my day off, from my boss saying to please call her back and have been a ball of nerves all evening now. It was too late in the day to call her back today, and her voice sounded cheerful in the message, but im thinking the fact she called me on my day off, something's wrong or this is somehow urgent. I'll call back tomorrow, which is also a day off, but im dreading what this could be about. Seriously filled with dread and thinking about worst case scenarios. Im definitely gonna have nightmares tonight guaranteed.

As someone with an anxiety disorder, even when they do confront you about something you did or didn't do that bothered them, it's still hard to tell whether I should take responsibility or not because there have been times I've been gaslit at work by bosses. So now I question everything I do and even my motives behind them. It's sickening and exhausting.

Ughhh this is me and I didn't even realize it until just now. My first "big girl job" (for lack of a better term) was for an emotionally abusive boss who used shitty tactics like the silent treatment and literal harassment. I've been lucky to have two absolutely amazing, lovely people as my boss since- but I still find myself anxious like this over absolutely nothing. I'm always on edge trying to figure out where I stand, despite good feedback and positive interactions. I was never like that before, so I guess that one bad boss did more damage than I realized. I saved this video to come back to next time I'm feeling anxious, my plan is to watch it enough times that I brainwash myself into being a normal person again haha. Also gonna look into some real therapy instead of just trauma dumping in the YT comments section lmao
This was genuinely a wake up call for me, so thank you! New sub for sure 🤗

This is along the lines of, “I don’t want to get into trouble…” Adults need to learn how to be adults - both management and employees.

I appreciate this. Some of us are like this, because when our managers feelings about us change, the 5 to 15 minutes late, that was OK, becomes a violation of code of conduct and a fireable offense.
    It’s ALWAYS an US problem😢😢😢
