God damn. How is so much power generated with so few notes in the right hand? I feel like this shit goes harder than most thrash metal. Obviously everything is subjective.
One should have Exceptional EAR to be able to transcribe such a difficult Jazz piece of music played on the piano. I was wondering about the Double Bass, what was he doing it? Can I have an insight - please.
Eddie Gomez is using a combination of playing in a "broken" feel (not strict walking, and not strict 2-feel either) and improvising to create interplay/conversation with Bill's own improvisation. Then when Marty Morell is anticipating switching to sticks, he starts going in a walking 4 feel. For him to do that, he has to know the chord changes of the song so he can ground himself with these concepts and be able to do it in the first place.
Marty Morell switches from brushes to sticks at 1:07 and the transition is just genius from all three players.
Yup, that's the part that actually made my jaw drop when I listened to this for the first time.
The extra burst of energy created by this is so exhilarating! Going to recommend doing this to my drummer friends.
That's fire! The solo intro Bill Evans plays in that performance is fantastic as well, I'd love to see that transcribed too, or transcribe it myself.
Brilliant transcription. Well done.
Have 99% of evey thing BE has recorded. This-.is my favorite. Ty for the transcription. 🎉
Brilliant transcription of an electrifying performance, found this at just the right time, thank you so much!!

His left hand is his right hand's best friend, that's how I hear it.
Is there a CD from this masterwork?
