Kevin said it best at the end. We movie fanatics are fanatics because of good films that hit us. Whether it’s funny or sad or angry or whatever, the best movies are the ones that hit us where it counts.
“Lara walked along the tracks following a path worn by pilgrims and then turned into the fields. Here she stopped and, closing her eyes, took a deep breath of the flower-scented air of the broad expanse around her. It was dearer to her than her kin, better than a lover, wiser than a book. For a moment she rediscovered the purpose of her life. She was here on earth to grasp the meaning of its wild enchantment and to call each thing by its right name, or, if this were not within her power, to give birth out of love for life to successors who would do it in her place.” Boris Pasternak - Doctor Zhivago (referenced in Into the Wild)
I went down a rabbit hole the other day googling who the most underrated actors are and almost every article that I came across listed Gary Oldman and Sam Rockwell really high in their lists. Can’t say I disagree with either. Their probably both one of the most underrated actors of their respective generations
@@batblayde8095 Rockwell, yes. But Oldman , ever since Dracula I see nothing but praise for him everywhere and he lands roles in many great movies. Though rarely the main character, maybe that's why people think hes underrated
this reminded me for a moment how much I used to enjoy real film. It used to be an art form that required so much intense and passionate collaboration. The end result, the 'product,' stayed with you.
For some reason this popped up some 3 yrs later. I am glad it did. I really like Gary but my admiration for Kevin Costner grows every time i see him. Seems like a genuinely nice man.
Anybody that does any type of show with Kevin Costner is guaranteed to have a winner. When I was working on a job in Hong Kong the main story for well over a week was that Kevin Costner and his wife (I believe that is who it was) were going to spend a few days talking about a new film. I took a bus from Kowloon al the way to the Hotel area where he was and I could not get any closer than a kilometer from the Hotel because of the crowd of people (mostly Hong Kong citizens) waiting to get a glimpse of Mr Kostner. In Hong Kong! The Man is a genius and outstanding human.
Never expected to see or even watch this in my feed. But that encounter with the lady who’s husband was missing in action was deep. I hope her husband made it home and she got to share in that special moment with him. God bless all of those who have and will answer the call to arms 🙏
Gary is one of my favs. Kevin Costner told a story of how the script of "Dances With Wolves" came about, very very interesting. I think it was on the Graham Norton Show
Kevin is right! We sometimes give actors and Hollywood a hard time, because maybe you feel like they are overpaid, or not that important.....but when a film hits on all cylinders,....its very powerful! And stays with you forever
Kevin Costner is a great person for doing that for that woman. To have that level of Emotional Intelligence is refreshing to hear from a Hollywood star. Great stuff
Always loved what Gary Old man brought to the screen.definitly most under rated actor.First movie I saw of his was True Romance that hooked me.Great.And memorable experience to be drawn into what is acting.
Ultimately he won an Oscar but his first nomination came very late in his life. Anyway awards doesn't mean much. But the acting community is aware how good he is, and for the general public i don't know.
That would be true, but this interview, and several others, weould indicate that he has a hard time being silent, so not sure where you are coming from
I'm thoroughly convinced that Sirius Black and Gary Oldman are one anf the same. There's no distinction, other than one being a literary/movie character. He's so mischievous it hurts, lol.
Yeah, I agree, it's a much more natural environment. Doesnt feel as much like the spotlight is only on you, and you have to deliver content the entire time
if u watch kevin on nortons show, u wud noticed that he likes to talk alot, but id like to think, him running his mouth telling his stories arent really a bore to me, its just kevin been kevin. hes done it for years, true fans of his wud know this by now.imma huge fan of gary's too, ive watchd almost everything he's done as much as kevin's work also, so this interview was genuine enough😊
Gary Oldman answered the question then Costner took it to this whole other level, haha! Truth is Gary Oldman has a cult following that far exceeds Costner and his career. Gary Oldman is a living legend.
Hey there Kevin Costner, you have been an annual contributor to not just my TH-cam Page but my sanity. Starting and growing a business is tough, to say the least. So please hit up Miranda Kerr and Miranda cosgrove asap for your future endeavors and tickets to my first Presidential State Dinner in 2024. Merry Christmas and happy New Year for your friends connections but mostly the entire Costner Family. God bless and great health for your entire clan worldwide.
i have always loved kevin costner as an actor. i'd very much love to see the day when we stop holding character actors up as the gold standard for acting. it's nonsense. apples and oranges. it's just as rare for a person to be able to get in front of a camera and be electric as it is for one to disappear into many different sorts of parts. tell me a story that i believe. that is all i care about.
Interesting contrast between Americans and British, in general. Oldman is a great actor, but there's that classic British hauteur, whereas Costner is without pretension.
One thing about Kevin Costner no matter how famous and rich he becomes he's real and genuine and he doesn't take it for granted. True gentleman. ❤
0:54 Kevin taking a decade putting his mug on the table so that he doesnt disrupt Gary's story..what a classy and thoughtful move
What a very considerable observation that many wouldn't have noticed. Fair play to Kevin. So glad you pointed this out, Hani.

That was Sirius talking, lol.

Costner is the real deal. Nothing phony about him. Beautiful story..TY for sharing
Kevin said it best at the end. We movie fanatics are fanatics because of good films that hit us. Whether it’s funny or sad or angry or whatever, the best movies are the ones that hit us where it counts.
Wonderful story. Made me tear up. Kevin is such a nice guy. Dances with Wolves and The Postman are my favorite Costner films.
"Put the right title on what you do" should be on a manual of "Being a stellar human being". THANK YOU Mr Costner Senior.

Oldman always comes off as a genuinely nice guy.
Gary Oldman is the most underrated and under appreciated actor of our generation.
Eh underrated by who exactly
Yes underrated becoz inspite all the appreciation, he is not regarded as one of the goats, which he is.
@@avijitjha1614 I was under the impression he was widely regarded as one of the greats

Kevin is such an American icon in the acting world. The man is just a treasure
Oh my gosh I did not expect the intensity. I feel like I have a thing stuck in my throat. Touching!

hot dam, guys, I certainly did not regret watching this today.
Thanks for being real.

It's 2023 and I'm LOVING this interview!!💗💗
Great actors, Gary and Kevin..wow
That story of Costner made my eyes sweat...
Both were absolutely brilliant in the JFK movie
Kevin Costner is an incredible human being.
Kevin is right! We sometimes give actors and Hollywood a hard time, because maybe you feel like they are overpaid, or not that important.....but when a film hits on all cylinders,....its very powerful! And stays with you forever
Gary Oldman was amazing in State of Grace
Both of them wearing their 'actor glasses' lol
Yea.. and Kevin is going for the bruce springsteen "look"...
Well both have real lenses in them.
Not sure why you'd call real working normal glasses "actor glasses"
..no dearie, they are wearing their people glasses.
Gary wow! no words show this character charisma and Talent! love him
Both Actors are Gold to their art.
Love Kevin!

Kevin costner is right on the money a good movie is about moments not action crap about moments that you can relate to
Damn if only jackir chan heard that.

Wow! That was profound!
"It was a 6 hour day it was a long day"...ohhhhh nooo thats sooooo long😔😔😔🤧
much love to all!
*Costner bares his soul*
Larry King: Moving on!
Gary Oldman: Come on people, we were supposed to tell a funny story!
Kevin Costner: But I want my fans to think i'm a saint!
Two very different actors. Kevin Costner always plays a version of himself; Gary Oldman always transforms himself.
Larry King didn't just interview people he had a conversation with them
oh my goodness Kevin Costners fan story was so so moving...thank goodness he stopped to speak to her. Heart- breaking to the core.
Two greats
wow what a powerful video...that was awesome
Wow, I thought Larry King was dead. Great to see he is still alive and doing well!
this is going to be awkward...
🙄
Kevin Cosner seems to me like his silence speaks volumes Reminds me alittle like Steve McQueen.
That would be true, but this interview, and several others, weould indicate that he has a hard time being silent, so not sure where you are coming from
I want a Day Lewis, Oldman, Mortensen, Washington film before I die.
It's Jim Garrison and Lee Harvey Oswald.
And I heard this voice....
" Build it and he will come."
Mike Pardue ✌
I'm thoroughly convinced that Sirius Black and Gary Oldman are one anf the same. There's no distinction, other than one being a literary/movie character. He's so mischievous it hurts, lol.
Kevin is amazing in Yellowstone
Great video
Being reserved and conversationally semi-competent I much prefer three-hander chats. You don't have to hold up your end, you're freed from that.
Yeah, I agree, it's a much more natural environment. Doesnt feel as much like the spotlight is only on you, and you have to deliver content the entire time

how much longer before Larry gets a high chair
Gary Oldman answered the question then Costner took it to this whole other level, haha! Truth is Gary Oldman has a cult following that far exceeds Costner and his career. Gary Oldman is a living legend.
“A six hour day”? Wow that’s tuff 😏
“I was beat” 😂
The differnce between an UK actor and an USA in telling a story .. clearly about 90 seconds ...
Gary Oldman is turning into John Hurt and I don't mind it one bit. I doubt Gary or John would mind the comparison too.
Can we talk about Gary Oldman's body language though?
What's Larry on about at the end
kevin let gary talk lol..........
You can tell that lady really effected Costner.
Larry King has all the insight of a bag of doorknobs.
Try opening a door without a doorknob.
Waterworld. Watch it as its good!
"You never know how you touch people" ... That joke was lost in the ether.
Touched by a duster, lol
I'd like to hear some civil war-era stories from Larry.
Kevin is an alien. He looks about 29
Amazing how Costner realizes his story surpassed Oldman´s and tries to draw attention back to him.
Is that what happened according to you?? I actually liked Gary Oldman's better because it made everyone laugh.
Hurtlocker still my favorite
Jarhead, my bad!
They don't know what to do with their hands and bodies these two. They want to be comfortable, but not too close to each other.
Larry cuts off the laughter too early. Like after Oldman’s “do you have a pen?”
Jonathan Kent meets Jim Gordon. No one wants to mention that? 🤓
Awesome

i wonder why the interview had both Costner and Oldman. Did they do a movie together?
Daniel Toma they’re married
