    Hi. I purchased my Vevor ultrasonic cleaner in the summer of 2022 and just found out about the recall about 3 months ago. I live in the US and bought it through Amazon. I was surprised I hadn't heard of the recall, and that Amazon had not notified its buyers of this. I'm very mechanically inclined and I took mine apart to check it, as soon as I heard of this. I've probably used it over 1000 hours with no issues. After inspection and testing I found all the solder joints properly, even beautifully done. All the wiring was neatly secured and insulated. No signs of over heating or char. I do run mine through a surge protector and turned off when not in use. I will continue to use mine as it puts my spin clean to shame. The USA industry (especially the car companies) are notorious for recalls so I don't think it's much to worry about as recalls happen.

      Glad yours is working nicely - this company has something like 30 product recalls in UK - not sure about US status. Thanks for watching!

      I second this. Also have the Vevor and no problems so far. I have the one with the digital read out and sealed buttons. I studied electronics in my younger years and still tinker quite a bit so Ill take it apart and check it out but I don’t know expect any surprises. As for quality, I was very nervous when buying it originally but I’ll definitely buy from them again.
      Just remember that Tesla’s also just had a recall, so did VW, Toyota and countless other companies. It’s hardly a metric on deciding if something has been made poorly.

    Good to know Greg. I had looked at these type of ultrasonic cleaners years ago and didn’t buy one because of the noise level. I have about 75 LPs left to clean with my Spin Clean a second time. It’s served me well with 600 LPs. Ultrasonic someday, maybe👍👍

    I've had a Humminguru ultrasonic cleaner for about half a year now and I think it works great. It was a little over $400 so obviously no comparison to the much more expensive cleaners, but it hasn't killed me so that's a plus, too. I never really cared for the Spin Clean and, you're right, way too expensive considering it's a big piece of plastic with some rollers and pads.

    OMG I am glad I found this video. It's not just that vinyl cleaner, it's ALL of them, pretty much. Including the Vevor JM-3OA 30 Litre one that many TH-camrs are pushing....it's apparently not earthed or fused, so the UK government destroys them if they are found at the borders!
    I commented this on a big recent paid promo review here, and got my comment removed so I reported the video.
    This is frankly dangerous the people taking money or free (killer) items for pushing these things when they don't meet basic electrical standards.

      There are a couple other brands that are the same design but $45 to $55 and also come with a drying rack that fits into the base. Studebaker and Knox Gear. I got the Knox and it seems to work well. The yellow color of the spin clean would be preferred to see the solution color, others are black.

      Personally, I am perfectly happy paying more for US made items over Chinese crap and supporting communism.
      Regarding Spin Clean, I have been using it for 5-6 years, and it is an amazing cleaning product. I use it on ALL used vinyl. Nothing better at getting alot of grime, grease and finger prints off vinyl. I also use ultrasonic after Spin Clean to get down in the grooves where Spin Clean may not get.

    I made my own ultrasonic cleaner. It rivals any cleaner out there. My LPs come out so f-ing clean, I’ve pretty much ditched everything else… usually 15 minutes slowly rotating is all I need to use (all new LPs get this treatment first).. sometimes I do two or three treatments ,, but usually 30 minutes for a used LP (even a thrift store find) is all I need.
    The only product I add to the distilled water in the cleaner is two or three drops of dishwasher rinsing aid or two drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid, and that’s only to act as a surfactant. no possible way to harm the vinyl.
    When they come out of the ultrasonic cleaner I have a pump style hand sprayer that’s filled with distilled water to rinse off all of the excess from the cleaner, I then microfiber wipe, and voila… ultra clean LPs

    I have a home made wet-vac system I use for my personal collection, but I use twin SpinCleans for all of the records I sell at my store. They work great, when used properly. Rinse really filthy records off in the sink first, overfill the SpinClean, use the first for cleaning, the second for rinse in distilled water, and use the cloths to dry and a good drying rack.

What I had to click out of half way through was a host who couldn't simply state his point and explain his results with each cleaner. In all honesty I don't need the endless side stories and dramatic asides.

    Funny. There is a spin clean made in China. It’s called Studebaker record cleaning machine. Cost about $40.00 on Amazon a few years ago when I bought it

    • @VinylRundown
      @VinylRundown  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Studebaker is made of wooden pressboard, right (weights 3 pounds)- so is not designed to be filled with water - water will warp the unit and eventually lead to bad mold problem. With studebaker you just spray the fluid onto the pads and don't actually submerge the LP in water. correct?

    • @jake105
      @jake105 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope. The exterior is MDF. The interior tank is plastic molding. At least it looks and melts like plastic. (i heated a sewing needle to see if it melts or burns) The inner tank is the same material as the rollers and the brush casings. I’ve been using it with distilled water in the tank for 2 years. No warping or Odor is present. However, the instructions say nothing about filling the tank with water.

    • @jake105
      @jake105 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Their is space between the inner tank and the exterior MDF. So I can see how water could get in between them, but the MDF is nothing more than a base to hold the tank.
