My bottle arrived yesterday and immediately had to get my nose on it. Had the same experience you described so I went back and bought a second bottle.
That would have been the end of my story but this morning I wore it as my scent for the day and before going thru a McDonald's drive thru. With a mask on the cashier asked if I was wearing a Cologne or my shower gel. Caught off guard and I began to apologize because I thought I had over sprayed the scent because it had projected out of my SUV and into the restaurant. She quickly said no. no it smells great! I paid for the meal and drove away with a huge smile on my face.

Just bought this scent and everything that has been said is true... it starts blue, nothing special but nice... but once the base kicks in, this scent becomes special, almost like an aura, that lasts and lasts. Fully recommend this, it's addictive!!

This is my favorite scent. It smells exactly like it sounds and like the packaging looks. It’s like you’ve been swept under a magical deep ocean current, it’s amazing

Yeah, I often don't like blue scents. They smell sharp, stuffy and generic to me. When I say generic, I don't mean cheap or low quality. I mean mass replicated. But, I have found a couple that are okay. It's difficult finding fragrances that I like. Because although I might like one fragrance, I often don't like related fragrances that are comparable. However, for some reason, I might like several fragrances from the same house when I do find a fragrance I like.

This was the first one in my collection definitely love this as a signature scent
I’m late to the game, but smelled this for the first time this past weekend, and man I had to go buy immediately. My friend who wore it, left a trail of the scent that I couldn’t resist and had to ask what he was wearing. I ordered the travel set and I’m looking forward to the three surprise travel size colognes that will be gifted in the box. I’m hoping Citizen Jack is one.
I just found out about this fragrance. The first day I wore it I’ve got a lot of compliments. Truly great fresh masculine smell. Smells like ocean 🌊
Malul is definitely one of my favorites an Im a freshie fan so this should be right up my alley!

Glad that you are back and recovering. I am a fan of excellent blue fragrances. I have not tried Ocean Noir but it sounds like a winner. I tried Prada Luna Rosa Ocean earlier in the summer. That was fantastic...Thumbs up for "Blue Monk"!!!

Glad you are feeling better, I agree that good packaging adds to the experience. For example, the Xeryus Rouge classical bottles are way classier than the current one. One of the funkiest perfume bottles I have is that of Dali pour Homme.

I don't necessarily dislike them, I just don't care for them. But I hope you enjoy this one.
I sold most of my blue fragrances and I only kept that ones that I really like. This one sounds like a winner.

So I first smelled this in the discovery pack. I really liked the scent but felt I didnt get the best wear out of it cuz the sample spray so small. So I orderd the big bottle. My son is in high school so I let him wear my fragrances. He got 3 compliments first day. I agree its fresh but there is some darkness that makes it ok to wear during the cooler days. Definitely a day time fragrance

Your reaction was the same as mine. I have seen this on Kingdom Fragrances for a while and heard Ross talk about it a lot, and I had gotten a sample pack with this in it, but never got around to trying it. And yes, once I tried it -- at first, it was very basic. It reminded me a bit of Dylan Blue, BUT it mainly reminded me of Penguin Premium Blend / Tommy Bahama's St. Kitts in terms of the "sea-worthy" nature of the scent. So I kind of wrote it off in the opening and said that it smelled "nice" and "pleasant" but couldn't justify the $115 that it cost.
And then it settled.
And the musk and amberwood came out.
And I couldn't stop smelling it and like you said, this is criminally sexy. Dark, yet aquatic, yet musky, yet smoky, yet captivating..there's just "something" about the fragrance that makes it different than others on the market. It isn't super mind-blowing, but you don't see it coming, like a chameleon. This is something that I can get behind and I'm going to try and get this in the next week or so. This is a great scent, hands down.

It reminds me of Creed Milesime Imperial but darker and more modern

I actually was surprised by a scent that smells like a fresh scent, but has this sweetness to it similarly to Ocean Noir and Dylan Blue - the 2021 release from Ex Nihilo named 'The Hedonist'. But in the end, as with all blue scents, the performance is such a letdown. 4h expected, 6h if lucky.
With performance what do you get on average?
For price - quality, Malul is a dumb reach. I collect literally 100’s of men’s fragrances and wear them at work/on weekends and Malul’s fragrances get me compliments all of the time. Often more compliments than much more expensive fragrances.
This intrigues me a lot because it turns dark in the dry down and dark loves my company or maybe the other way around hahaha But JC, you forgot to mention it's LONGEVITY, how many hours you get? Thx 🙌
I get about 7-8 hours, but your experience might be different.

Brotha I bought this today i personally don’t like it because it smells like bleu the smell gets boring a lil bit but I feel like I am judging it too hard so early on the performance didn’t work too well but perhaps lotion will help wit my opinion help me out man
I don’t know if I can necessarily help, but it’s definitely not an outside the box fragrance! It was intended to be an easy-wear. And if you’re judging performance form smelling it up close, I would give it a full wearing and judge it from there if you haven’t.

How long is it supposed to last? I can get 7 hours from Michael Malul fragrances, but I’m hearing from others that it lasts over 8 hours sometimes even 12. Am I putting it on wrong?
Your mileage will always vary! I can't say how long it will last on you. It lasts about 8 hours for me.

Technically...but they offer a range of aesthetics with their fragrances, some of which smell more like designer fragrances (like this one).
