I’d love to see a video about how to configure pfSense (or any more advanced router/firewall) to allow the proper UPnP setup for Flux nodes. I think that would be a great how to video for the community.
I definitely agree. I have a few FLUX computers which I want to run as FLUX nodes, behind the same router, but I encountered issues setting up multiple due to my Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro configuration. While a techie, I threw in the towel after a few days of trying to tame that problem as it kept taking my existing node offline. Months later I still don't see any videos explaining how to do that.
This worked like a charm and currently running 2 cumulus on reserver at home! You rock!

Hello ModoTech, thank your for your video. I try from few days to configure my nimbus node. I followed your guideline to configure a node with proxmox because i would like in the future, start a second node in my physical computer, so i created a VM.
I have installed docker, fluxnode, put all the information from my zelcore wallet but at the end of the installation, the benchmark failed. All the value are at 0. It seems that the benchmark can't access to the right machine?
It is normal that the IP adress indicated in the benchmark is not the same that my computer?
Do you have an idea of the problem?
Have the same problem on bare metal, but it runs fine with a basic gui install of Ubuntu.
I got the same issue..
My issue was related to not having the latest version of Ubuntu. You will need version 20.04.4 or later at the time of this post.
With new lower flux requirement, can you run 5 culumus flux node on one vps server?

You are on a roll Modo! Another valuable tutorial for the Flux node community. I'd like to make a request for a video tutorial. It's setting up multiple nodes using Virtual Box on a test net. There's lots of videos coming out but not much coverage on the test net side of things, like how to get the coins to even get started. And Agreed bare metal is best, but I think a lot of people will initially get started with running a VM on an existing machine they're using, so that's why a tutorial with a VM would be cool, especially in your clear and concise style :) Thanks Modo!
Testnet is always changing. And you don’t own real profits on the testnet. A video tutorial goes obsolete fast and you can’t edit after the upload
so my ip address starts with 10 but the ip address to configure starts with 192, how am i able to access the 192 address from my computer?

Since you're specifying a port in the UPNP config anyway, could you just "enable upnp" in MT, pick a port, and then forward that port to that specific node on your router?
What do you put in for the IP in Zelcore fluxnodes? Your home network private IP?

Great video! I am new to Proxmox and getting Flux error 'Not enough connections established to Flux network'. everything installs ok and node starts but after confirmation, I get on DOS list and this is the only issue I can see. any ideas? Thanks again for the great info ;)

Do I really need 25 mbit/s upload for every cumulus node? Are the benchmarks running the same time? I mean when I have 50 mbit/s upload and say have 3 cumulus nodes then a) serieal benchmarking would mean I pass the test. (e.g. one test every houer or so)... but when the benchmark ist parallel then I fail it because I don't have 75 mbit/s upload. Can someone tell me if I realy need 75 mbit/s upload for 3 cumulus nodes? (Fun Fact: 50 Mbit/s is the maximum according to my providers homepage)
bandwidth is now enforced by benchmarkd. if you are running multiple nodes, you will need to make sure the bandwidth can support all of them. Unfortunately many ISPs only allocate a small amount of bandwidth these days. Fiber is the way to go. It is full duplex. This also exposes one of the major challenges for web3. Our internet infrastructure has a lot to catch up. It's kinda like 5G, the tech is here but companies are still in early phases to roll out 5G radios.
@@ModernDogos Thx for you answer. My provider ofers only 250/50 mbits. 😞 So this means they start the benchmark on all devices at the same time? I mean when they benchmark culumbus01 at 11am and culumbus02 at 5pm and culumbus03 at 8pm then every benchmark would pass.

What happens if your router gets auto dhcp? Sometimes power loss occurs during summer and the it isn’t the same, then we need to go again in the cPanel and change in the servers the ip? Or should we get a static ip in our home router from the beginning?

At the completion of the Flux install at 16:37, your screen is showing an internal IP address. Where do you get the external IP address to put into the node in Zelcore?
I used your other video to install a node in my NUC box and have the gui interface you used to remote log in. If i want to change that to multipe nodes would i need to do a complete installation or can i just add it somehow to my currrent set up?

Nice video. I’ve just started some nodes on the Threefold network. Am I wrong in saying that they are pretty similar? I’m still looking into Flux and probably will get into it once I get more knowledge. Thanks for the videos again.

Nice Video ModoTech. I am planning to use this method. I have a 3900X which has 12 cores and 24 threads. Just a few questions:
1. Is this CPU sufficient to run 6 cumulus nodes?
2. Do I need to have all ssd space and RAM installed in this computer ahead of time or can I upgrade as I go?

yes the cpu will support 6 cumulus as long as 1. you have enough storage and ram ( you can expand those later) 2. have enough internet speed to support it.
@@ModernDogos I have 100 mb internet speed, which means that I can only place 4 cumulus nodes or the point is that the total speed is not less than 25 mb.

Thanks, Modo! When I saw your open rig really hoped that you will create a video on how to run multiple nodes. Regarding the SSD read speeds. If a standard SSD has 560mb/s read speed, it means that I can bearly run 3 cumulus nodes on it, right?
It more like 2. I eventually bought a nvme 2 tb for my open air rig. The sata ssd was having some bus driver issues. I’m moving the sata ssd into REServer to get rdy for storage nodes. The REServer OS are still running on a 500GB nvme

I used your single node video to set up initially should i leave all the changes i did on my router and just add in addition upnp or should i renove all the precious settings and do upnp by itself
Mostly likely(it depends on your router) you will need to delete the original port forwarding and the turn on UPNP. Otherwise UPnP doesn’t work properly

Great video as usual! As far as I understand your 5950x CPU with 16 cores is supporting 3 cumulous nodes and 2 nimbus nodes. It means that you assign 2 physical cores for each cumulous and 4 physical cores for each nimbus for a total of 14 cores, do I understand it correctly?. Can you just confirm what are all the vm software that allow you to assign 2 cores for each cumulous (instead of 4) - Proxmox - Yes/no | virtual box - Yes/No | Hypervisor Yes/No | others?
all you need to do is look at how many threads in total = the total number of vCore. just make sure you have the right total threads/vCore, you will be set. For example, cumulus needs 2 core 4 threads, so in proxmox you can either go with 2 sockets and 2 vcores per socket or 1 socket and 4 vcore per socket.
I was kind of wondering similarly if instead I could perform the same on Hyper-V or ESXi.
