Interesting thumbstud adjustment option for best blade deployment. I find that I use my thumbnail to flick out my blade on a large knife and the fleshy part of my thumb for regular and smaller knives, but everyone is different. Having said that, once set on this SOG, there aren't much else to do to otherwise tailor this SOG or any other models. Newer SOGs (Studies and Observations Group) are not as ornate as this old "throwback", but what has long distinguished this brand has been its belt clips that announce "SOG" a mile away. Probably not a good thing in states with strict knife-carrying laws. Check out the newer, modern SOGs being shown at this year's SHOT show. SOG and Cold Steel were recently bought up by GSM Outdoors.

Hi Rusty, I was thinking this might have been one of your store finds from yesteryear. Surprised to hear it's currently available. Gotta admit I haven't been paying close attention to their lineup. Looks a little awkward to me. The exposed liners, the large billboarded clip. RAT 2 or a CJRB worth the Xtra dollars in comparison or Ganzo in the same price range. Just my2 cents.
Hey Tom, I mostly bought this because it was less than $20 and I haven't had a SOG yet. I like the cutting performance, the ergos are good and HORRIBLE all at once. They are perfect for really light duty and terrible for any harder use. Yes, there are knives that are better and totally worth the extra money. Both the Rat 2 and Feldspar would fit the mould.

Yes, the pocket clips seem to advertise well.
I think the knife designs by SOG are alright, I just think that this knife looks better than it is
