  • Watch my entire Microsoft Word playlist here: bit.ly/2FY6NVT Learn how to quickly organize your word documents by rearranging the headings you set up in your document. The trick for doing this is to use the Navigation Pane. You'll also learn how to search for headings, pages, and results that contain certain text. ***Consider supporting Technology for Teachers and Students on Patreon***: / technologyforteachersa...

Brilliant teacher. Every single video of his I've had a chance to watch has been perfect. And the guy's cool. He doesn't showcase himself with a photo. He doesn't do anything to distract from the lesson. His videos are pure TH-cam gold.

Very helpful. Using the navigation pane to re-arrange a document is something I never knew about and I used word for many years. Thanks

I literally stopped working on a project with a table of contents because of the navigation bar being such a pain. Shocker, I just didn't understand it. Because of two of your videos I'm ready to get back to work. Thanks!

You are correct my friend. It is a powerful tool indeed. I wrote my doctorate in Word and knew about using Headings. But I did not know about moving the sections around easily with the navigation pane. (Had to look up the right spelling of "pane"...didn't want to use the wrong homonym!) I'm currently writing a book with a number of sections and am in the organizing phase. This tool is going to make it much, much easier. Thank you for the video. All the very best, Cheers Rick

Have you done one covering inserting JPGs in a WORD document. This has driven me crazy in past versions of WORD & am wondering if it's easier now. In the past the pics often jumped allover even after placing where I wanted them.

Hi everyone! Is this still true in the newer Word software? I am trying to do what he said toward the end (3:45)- actually use the Headings function to change the order of the document. I am not finding that in the newest version of Word. Help?

I have encountered a problem when moving sections in the Navigation Pane. When I try to move my Section 8.13 to be the last one, Section 8.14, it continues moving to my last page after the signature page instead of immediately before the signature page. What could I be doing wrong? Thank you very much for your tutorial.

I remember the bookmarks can be shown on the left side like a navigation pane before but I can't find how to do it now. The bookmark only can be shown thru Go To. I used to use it by just easy clicking it on the left side. Help!

I like the navigation pane in view all the time, but I collapse the subheadings in each headings, and then I work on the doc, and close it, but every darn time, I open up the doc, those subheadings are always expanded. How do I get it to keep the subheadings collapsed inside the headings in the navigation pane.

Mac version of Word doesn't have the same nice feature. It has Navigation pane, but it doesn't highlight all the sections that contain the search string. If anyone find a way to do it in the Mac version of Word, please reply. TIA!

I am using OSX El Capitan 10.11.6 with Word V. 16.16.27. Previously I was able to use Document Map in the Navigation Pane, but recently it will only show the contents of the Thumbnail Pane, Reviewing Pane and Find & Replace Pane. When I click the Document Map there is nothing in the field below. It is blank.
I've tried everything I can think of, adding headings to my (very long book I'm writing) etc. but seems the Document Map simply isn't 'seeing' anything.
Can you help me to locate, reinstall or offer assistance as to how to get Document Map working again. I've been using the Document Map to move around the 100's of pages easily, and now, without this assistance, I am in a quandary. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer. I am more than happy to support you via your Patreon link. Georgi
