    I remember a video of these hunters in Montana trying to call a coyote with coyote callers. They ended up luring a Wolf instead. Crazy stuff!

    I remember when I was in high school I was excited when I went to local sporting goods store and i getting my first electric caller I had been told by others and by the salesman that they would come running in so he ready. At first I thought maybe I was in a bad spot but then I learned i was lied to bc that's only happened like twice in 20+ years in Georgia. Calling doesn't mean coming. They come when they want to. Coyote hunting still excites me, but not bc I tick they're coming in super fast but bc I've learned they're supper smart and it makes you a better hunter

    Best is Prey distress , Coyotes whines and yelps, howls (group howling is locating call)(long single soft high pitch howl is a call), coyote bark is a threat
    Use locator then locate urself then call them by single how or prey in distress

    Try cartridge calls for a back up to any e-caller.

      There very distinctive a whine… and yelp and howling 🐺 if you hear them that’s it, you know. It’s very simple for Coyote.

    Long howls are good for calling in coyotes, in a way it puts then at ease and the get comfortable and come in.

    you have a bunch of quality info in your vids man thanks for what you do. i think it may be advantageous to you to reupload some of your older videos with new titles perhaps thumbnails in hopes of the algorithm shuffling a video or few to the forefront along the way. it seems a lot of people are gaining interest in topics you've covered in the past.

    Interesting. On the East coast (and center?) we pronounce coyote as ky-o-tee, not just ky-ote. I checked the online Merriam Webster dictionary, and it has the both pronunciations, and lists the second one, the one used in this video, as "Western."

    • @roberttodd8708
      @roberttodd8708 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Western but not West Coast. Southern California we refer to them as Cay-Oh-tee. Just like Machete Ma-Chet-tee. Since it is a Spanish or Latin word I feel the pronunciation should stay true.

    i thought i would be hearing someone talk about the beauty of life and nature. instead i get to hear another human talking about imposing their will and needlessly being cruel.

    I have no problem hunting yote's in central Fl. We hunt pressured yoties that are shot at on ranches by cowboys on sight.Day or night we will get at least one. Then I hunt West Va. coyotes in an area with no pressure and cannot get them to come out of a holler! Three packs in a mile square that I hear daily and they will not respond to a call.I can make them howl any morning or evening but will not come out. I have placed camera on deer remains and they wont touch them, remove the camera and the deer will be gone in one night.

      Depending on where you live it is as necessary as hunting deer. They are predators btw. I've been stalked by 2 coyotes at separate times. Luckily one lost interest and the other was distracted by some small fast moving creature about 20 yards from me and the canine. I would never kill one unless it was a dire situation but I think it's a necessary evil to keep their numbers down.
      Edit: autocorrect.

    Have I been pronouncing the name wrong my entire life? Is it not “Ki*yo*tee? Or does it not matter?

    • @InformedOutdoors
      @InformedOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m actually pronouncing it wrong. Shouldn’t have the long e at the end. It’s just the way I’ve always said it lol

    I am not close to being anti-hunting. But what in the hell is the point of luring coyotes just to kill them?? It's one thing to handle one's that are a problem to your farm.. but what's the goal here? To wipe them out of existence? Despicable. Smh

    • @InformedOutdoors
      @InformedOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all. We have to attempt to keep the population of predator and prey in balance. It’s not as effective as a consistent trapping program, and you still have to do the habitat work. But reducing the predator population, even temporarily, will help take pressure off the smaller prey species.
