Just left a comment on your flight risk video. Very slick!! I subscribed!
I thought it looked good after the first trailer. The next 40 made me not want to bother watching it 😂
Hi! (Brett here) EXACTLY!! I wouldn’ve walked out of the cinema If I didn’t have to do the review.
I'm still trying to figure out which supermarket you go to because it's always empty. My idea of heaven. 😂.
Forgot to say Mark Wahlberg was enjoyable in it and there were some high production value mountainous shots.
I had no idea this was a Mel Gibson film, it doesn't look like a Gibson film, it looks like a budget, dated action film the studio decided to release in the post-Christmas off season, the season where mediocre movies go to be forgotten. Plane action movies are a specific and very hackneyed formula, I was a bit shocked to see they're still making these, to be honest. It's like an unironic joke. I turned off the previews for this movie on all social media platforms a while back, I don't need a bad movie crammed down my throat. I don't like it when they do that with good movies. I agree with Brett with regard to Apocalypto, it's so good it's shocking. This film looks like they used Mel's name to sell a bad movie, like dressing a turd in Prada.
@@lacasa3514 literally could not have said it better myself! (This Brett by the way). Yeah this type of film belongs in the nineties. Should have gone straight to streaming. Yes, ‘hackneyed’ is the word. People actually left the cinema and there were only 8 people in there. This is really not helping cinemas at all. Some projects just baffle me as to how they could get the go ahead. I think sometimes you get a renowned director who can pick their projects and the company trusts them. I’d trust Mel. I think the corporates will be pissed off either the result. Venom three was another example of how the f*%k did this get the go ahead.
@@lacasa3514 thanks for the comment by the way - really appreciate it!
@@lacasa3514 and thanks for all your comments on out other videos.
@BrettandLewsMovieReviews the part about people leaving an empty theatre made me laugh, man that's sad. After your review I reflected that I can't think of one director whose best work was in their later years. I'm sure there's a few, but none come to mind. My favourite Strauss piece was written when he was 84 and I prefer Lucian Freud's later paintings, but no directors or producers come to mind. It's as though, unlike Strauss, they can no longer feel the music. This seems to be an awkward time in cinema, the few contemporary movies I've been excited about the past couple years have been pretty disappointing, even the ones critics and audiences seemed to enjoy. Whatever the movie of the time is, it hasn't yet been made. It seems like there's less and less space for new talent, as the studios keep pushing established and aging directors and actors to make movies that look and seem old and dated.
@BrettandLewsMovieReviews no worries, love your content, I think the format is rad and you guys have a good time with it, which I really enjoy.
I guess It’s not really worth a watch then. Thanks for the feedback guys!!
