Thanks for the comment, yes I guess 18hp electric starts are rare. Nice motors, you just can't kill these. Let me know if you'd like me to email you a PDF of the factory Evinrude brochure, makes for great reading. Also let me know if you need some basic parts (not the electric start stuff sorry!...:o). I've got 3 -18hps from various years, think I can make 2 runners and sell off the rest. Also saw your nice 1974 Hydro tractor with loader, nice little tractor, didn't know you could get a loader for a garden tractor! Glad you enjoyed the video- Cheers!~ Bellarmine
Where would I be able to find the file line connection for the pressurized fuel line & tank? I have the same motor in AMAZING condition, but I'm not able to hook any fuel lines to it because of the old omc style fuel/air lines & I don't have a fuel tank either that will work.. Any help on where I can find these parts?
Hi, thanks for your question! Yes, I guess that can be a problem if you don't have a dual-line tank, they have gotten so EXPENSIVE these days! I assume your Evinrude still has the connector on the motor? Here are 4 ideas I came up with: - I have a spare dual-line tank connector, could send it to you for some price. Also have a 4-1/4 gal tank it goes with, might be pricey to ship though. - I have a friend that has lots of Johnson parts, he may be able to help you out with a tank, though same shipping problem (from Ontario Canada) - If you got a connector, then you could convert any standard fuel tank to a pressure tank by adding a hose-barb fitting and closing off the tank vent. You'd need some dual-line hose, or just use 2 hoses tiewrapped/twisted together. - Convert your engine to a fuel pump, and then you can use any connector / tank off the shelf for cheap. If you want more information on the above (fuel pump/my friend etc), feel free to email me at my address on my TH-cam 'About' page. Can also send you the 1957 Brochure for your motor for free, makes for very interesting reading. Hope this is helpful, let me know how I can be of further assistance.....:o) Happy Boating, keep the oldies running and Cheers!~ Bellarmine
very rare to find a 57 18hp with electric start. I have a 18 with a pull start I am restoring. Nice motor
