Enjoyed watching this video of the past times in Olongapo City. Lived out in town on Fendler street and Kessing street back in 89-92. Also stationed onboard the USS NIAGARA FALLS AFS-3. This is a beautiful place and beautiful people. Love the culture and the food. You cant beat this place. Aim High Olongapo.

I was there in 1983 also. I used to go to a bar called The Fur Trader, and met a woman who went by the name Marsha De La Cruz, but her real name was Marcia Borromeo. I wish I would have married her.

My grade school classmate in the Philippines married a USAF airman she met at Clark AFB in 1964. They are STILL married and living in the USA. I just hope that majority of these Filipino women who married US servicemen have remained married and happy with their family lives. I cannot blame them for what they did in order to meet and marry US servicemen. I think many of these Filipinas have remained faithful to their husbands and families, once they got out of poverty. And I am thankful for American men to keep their marriage commitment to these women, once they had settled in the USA. (Is any statistics on the divorce rate of these marriages compared to all marriages in the USA?)

Robert here, Last time I checked 2021, 84% of Filipinas marry service men are still married, 9% passed.

I was stationed at SRF(Ship Repair Facility) Subic Bay from 11/20/1978 to 3/30/1981 when I was in the Navy. It was the very best tour of duty I ever had when I was in the Navy. My tour of duty was way far too short. I met my late wife of 31 years on 1/16/1975 on my very first Westpac Cruise in the Navy. We didn't get married till 4/5/1979 a few months after I got stationed at SRF Subic Bay. My late wife passed away on 3/6/2010, a month shy of being married 31 years. My late wife was a wonderful wife & mother. We had 3 children.

Christopher S. O' Christopher, were you on the USS Bronstein during the ‘78-‘81 years? I ask bc my late father was stationed there during that time (Navy, as well) on the USS Bronstein and wonder if you knew each other.

The style of bikini bottoms in tje 80s and 90s are so much more attractive imo. I hate how they wear them across under the hips nowdays. As a woman i prefer the high cut sides.
