I’m 27. I discovered this song on my 14th birthday. My 28th birthday is in less than a month. Crazy to think this song has been with me half of my life.
This album has been such an integral part of my life ever since my brother showed me this album when it came out. It never fails to make me emotional, especially with everything that happened to Andrew as soon as he wrapped up recording it. Amazing story behind it all and so touching still to this day.
Used to hear this whenever I had issues, and man I thought those were the biggest issues someone could have... several years later you learn things could be much, much worse. But this takes me back to a simpler time.
Andrew McMahon is such a hero. Not only to write and play amazing songs, but to fight his battle through cancer. He's a true survivor and I hope he never ever gives up writing music because his songs are just breath-taking.
I adore this song. It is by far my favorite out of all they've done. The first time I heard it I cried and for many times after that... the song just pierces my heart because it so perfectly describes a heartbreak, which fortunately for once isn't mine, but is so horribly painful for me to see. Thank you for uploading it.
Andrew is such an inspiration and such kind hearted guy. :D He is just so cool. Can't wait til Dear Jack comes out. It's going to be heart wrenching, but I am so glad his story ended happy and he is hear to tell about it and give support to those who are battling cancer as he did.
The part when he sings 'say you'll miss me one last time and I'll be strong' always touches me so deeply, something about the desperation and note he hits. I listen to the whole song just to hear that peak.
I love all of their songs . I want them to play a concert in Germany . A few months ago I listened to their songs the whole day, again and again . They're so awesome . . .
absolute favourite song of all time. not just my favourite by Andrew (SoCo or Jack's) but out of any song i've ever heard, i have not heard one that tops this one.
i loved this album but didn't think much of this song at first. then the girl i like told me how much she loved this song and i took a second look. now its one of my favorites.
Protip. Andrew completed recording the album the same day he was diagnosed with cancer. Any allusions to the cancer found in the lyrics on Everything in Transit are merely coincidental.
I consider this my favorite track of Jack's Mannequin. I first heard this song over 2 years ago and I still love it now. I wish Andrew would continue making songs like this. Or at least like Hammers and Strings, which I think is another beautiful track. And I prefer this album more than The Glass Passenger. =)
I really wish people would stop trying to interprate this! It's a beautiful song, let it mean something to you instead of wondering what it means tto everyone else. And if you wanna tell people what you think it means, say "I think" instead of "it means".
i like ur view, i think he's saying that he's dug himself a little too deep this time, and he knows he'll just pull her in too if she tries to help, so he's saying goodbye. i love to see it when people say what they think the song is about!
4 loves gone by and this song is still the one I remember them by :) makes me think of happier times rather than the sad times, funny how it can take me back in time like that
thank's for uploading. the version i listenned to was deleted and i was desperate not to find any this version. I love this song, it's really one of my favourite but I just can't stand it in live... Alors merci encore, c'est super sympa de l'avoir publiée.(=
This was one of the first songs I started learning when I started teaching myself piano last year. My then boyfriend showed it to me. We've been broken up for about 3 months now and I thought I was over it... I was wrong. haha "Say you'll miss me one last time." I know I miss him, but I wonder if he misses me.
When he did this live, he said this was pretty much conveying the words used when breaking up over the phone, and how he was sure that he'd hear them again sometime...
This here is the song I first heard from Jack's Mannequin. It was also the first song I listened to when I heard they'd quit. I will miss hearing these songs.
Man I miss those days, felt like I was living in a bubble back then, oh to be young and free, now I'm in my late 20s with a family of my own, hard to believe I used to listen to this on repeat on my good ol classic ipod cursing god for even introducing me to the bitch who broke my heart back then, every now and then I always youtube this song and remember even though the pain was great back then, they really were the fucking days I wish I had back lol
Lovethissong, its also on the playlist for the sc-fi love story written by stephenie meyer 'the host' cant wait till they make the film the books so sweet. xxxxxxxxx
amazing song, very real, has alot of feeling, you can tell its a great song in the first 2 secs. and its just..idk amazing =D very relatiable, good song!!
Dude, I love this song because it makes me feel really strong :) sounds stupid but it's true..imagine to say to the one you love "I prefer not to be rescued by you now" WOOOW love it! :)
@UChooseK7H this song is simply about a relationship in it's final stages. the singer still has feelings for the girl, but he knows it is emotionally draining and he can't take it any longer, so no matter what he can't go back to her
thats for you to figure out. its what people want it to mean. for some people it can be talking about a break up, for others just sadness. the comments below yours are what its about.
An amazing song. JM is awesome. Andrew McMahon is. Something Corporate is a great band too, also with Andrew McMahon. If you haven't heard 'em,check 'em out.
@gavwhitehawk Yes, wow, I would never have thought so many people would agree. I think it's because it breaks off from there :) .... I also like, "I'm following myself just this once. I got spun, it appears you're spun as well, it happens when you pay attention."
McMahon's name for the band Jack's Mannequin stemmed from his relationship with a boyhood friend named Jack who died of cancer. Of course, the name took on a lot more meaning when Mr. McMahon himself battled cancer.
I think those are the odds he has of being rescued from the situation. At first it looked dim, then he realized that it wouldn't ever happen. That's what I got.
Protip. this song isn't about a break up. or breaking up. or relationships. its about how the singer developed cancer and his struggle through it and how it affects everyone around him. -alot- of his more recent songs in both bands are about it.
Andrew was diagnosed with cancer 3 months prior to the release of "In Transit". The songs were already written and recorded. It was important to him that this album was released, if he didn't survive. Touring for the album was put on hold. You didn't give anyone a "protip", lol.
can anyone tell me a song by andrew mcmahon/something corporate/ jacks mannequin?. i heard it on the radio about 5 years ago and the only thing I remember was the words "for you-ou". I'm positivs it was his voice, and I think it may be from the album Dark Blue

Happy Belated Birthday. You have great taste 👌
Pre much same same story here but turning 28 this year im 1 year behind you lol

It never fails to make me emotional, especially with everything that happened to Andrew as soon as he wrapped up recording it.
Amazing story behind it all and so touching still to this day.
When you know the story, it becomes another level.
Used to hear this whenever I had issues, and man I thought those were the biggest issues someone could have... several years later you learn things could be much, much worse. But this takes me back to a simpler time.

this is such an old song, but still lovely :] Everytime he plays it at a show it's beautiful, Andrew is too looked over, he's such an amazing artist.
I adore this song. It is by far my favorite out of all they've done.

I love Jack's Mannequin sooo much!
These songs are some of the best songs I've heard in my life! :)
I love all of their songs . I want them to play a concert in Germany . A few months ago I listened to their songs the whole day, again and again . They're so awesome . . .
shivers. all the time from his music.
pure artist, he is.
So inspiring! This beautiful song reminds me how much music is universal, and how much it can affects anyone of us, anywhere in the world.
absolute favourite song of all time. not just my favourite by Andrew (SoCo or Jack's) but out of any song i've ever heard, i have not heard one that tops this one.
The lyrics are beautiful. This song is really touching.

saw them live 3 days ago now - best night of my freaking life so far! everything is right in my world atm.
I really wish people would stop trying to interprate this! It's a beautiful song, let it mean something to you instead of wondering what it means tto everyone else. And if you wanna tell people what you think it means, say "I think" instead of "it means".
"Its unclear, But this may be my last song". what a scary thought!
i like ur view, i think he's saying that he's dug himself a little too deep this time, and he knows he'll just pull her in too if she tries to help, so he's saying goodbye. i love to see it when people say what they think the song is about!
Damn! I wish I was living in the Us so I could go to the Fray/Jack's Mannequin concerts. An epic team right there.
4 loves gone by and this song is still the one I remember them by :) makes me think of happier times rather than the sad times, funny how it can take me back in time like that
"And don't you think I wished that i could stay..."
So beautiful and deep.. =)

This could take all year
@Duncan Phillips, Andrew McMahon is the lead singer who battled cancer.
McMahon's name for the band Jack's Mannequin stemmed from his relationship with a boyhood friend named Jack who died of cancer. Of course, the name took on a lot more meaning when Mr. McMahon himself battled cancer.
Abner C. Kemp Jack didn't die. If you watch the documentary called "Dear Jack", you see him at the end, at Andrew's wedding
+Rob P. Your knowledge compels me. Do you want to drink and talk about life together?
This is so sad...
I think those are the odds he has of being rescued from the situation. At first it looked dim, then he realized that it wouldn't ever happen. That's what I got.
what kind of music would this be classified as?
I rly love this song but I can't quite understand its meaning as well as I'd like to so can someone please elaborate on it? Please ans thank you.
the start of this song sounds so much like dashboard confessional to me. anyways i love this song x 1.26 million
Nince song..it reminds me Relient K
Jack's Mannequin + Something Corporate = orgasm, life, my day, music, just everything, YES.
Protip. this song isn't about a break up. or breaking up. or relationships. its about how the singer developed cancer and his struggle through it and how it affects everyone around him. -alot- of his more recent songs in both bands are about it.

what a sad song.
@levicall He classifies it as Piano Rock.
can anyone tell me a song by andrew mcmahon/something corporate/ jacks mannequin?. i heard it on the radio about 5 years ago and the only thing I remember was the words "for you-ou". I'm positivs it was his voice, and I think it may be from the album Dark Blue
