I had to do a report on this country. My middle school teacher assigned every student in class a different European country to report. My teacher gave me Liechtenstein. I yelled out in class, What country is this? I never even heard of it before in my life.

I think Japan is particularly difficult to become naturalized even by marriage to a Japanese citizen. I think there are others for example to become Malaysian if you are Jewish or a citizen of the state of Israel. That might be the same for Indonesia too. For people without the necessary wealth, Monaco would be impossible.

I'd be curious if it would be any easier to immigrate if you can prove that your ancestors immigrated from Liechtenstein? 😅 I have my life here in the US, but it's absolutely beautiful. I have to wonder why my ancestor immigrated to the US between (b. 1852- d.1888). Sadly, this 2nd great grandfather didn't live very long. Before he immigrated, we had generations from Balzers. I'm a bit stunned to learn all of this, because my mother thought her grandfather was German. Perhaps it was easier to describe which country Liechtenstein was near?

Offically its German - so in school and written stuff you see. In normal life they basically speak Swiss German (probably not suposed to say this). At least I couldnt tell my co-worker from Liechtenstein appart from the others and when I asked her if she "switches" to sound more like us she said she always speaks like that.
In fact I understand her better than most of my countrymen from other provinces - who also claim to speak Swiss German
