I managed to find the pre code, and now got the correct code but cannot find anywhere to enter it, the radio plays and tunes in but keeps making a loud beep every few seconds, tried disconnecting the battery and left for an hour , but nothings changed, anybody any idea how to enter it at this stage, need to sort it, wifes doing my head in, and kick off won't be long so need to get it sorted EDIT .leaving the radio on it resets and allows the input of the code, but pressing number 6 all that comes up on the screen is CURVE, anybody idea , and what this is and where to go next.
I will pin this comment for peoples future reference. Basically what has happened here is your radio thinks this is the first code entry. CURVE is tone correction there are 6 to chose from 0 - 5. 0 = Not Operating, 1= Twingo or similar, 2 = Clio or similar, 3 = Megane or similar 4 = laguna or similar 5 = Velsatis or similar. So for the Clio it should be set to 2. It will then ask for country. In the UK and Europe select OTHER every other area is named so your selection will be obvious. Next it will ask REAR options will be on or off select on. To make selections use the thumbwheel on the steering wheel control to scroll through and press and hold mode button to confirm.
EDIT again, finally sorted it, if anybody else has the same issue, when you press 6 (for a few seconds) after rentering the code, and you see the word CURVE, press the 6 again for a few seconds, you then get another word but forgot what it said, press 6 again and hold it for a few seconds, the radio should then reset if not keep repeating the 6 button procedure,
You are a life saver..It is a pity that I can only give you 1 like. I could have given you a billion of likes.. Many thanks for your free tutorial. I had issue with the battery and alternator. I will leave this comment here in case anyone has similar issues in the future. My radio was having a beeping sound every time it was turned on. It beeps every few seconds for about a minute or 2 and it goes off. I tried everything but nothing worked. I even changed the fuse and nothing. Well, it turned out, that one of the cables (yellow one) was disconnected from the back. I suspect during the recent MOT because it started right after. I had to pull the radio out that's how I noticed the disconnected cable. Anyway, I reconnected the cable, and the beep continued, so I pressed help 6 until it prompted me to enter the code. After entering the code, I helped 6 and the word "other" appeared on the screen, I pressed and held it two more times before I was taken back to BBC 1. This has been doing my head in for the past few days. I'm glad I was able to resolve it, thanks to this video. One more thing. The visual screen was completely blank while this issue was going on. I would only see the clock on displace but not the radio station information.
