  • In this video, you see the TT MALICE Frame next to a LC-2 ALICE Frame.
    The MALICE Frame weighs approximately 8 oz. more than the ALICE Frame. Using my old-school, possibly inaccurate scale, MALICE weighed 3 pounds and the ALICE weighed 2.5 pounds. TT claims that MALICE weighs 30% less than other aftermarket ALICE type frames. I don't know what manufacturers they we comparing to.
    MALICE frame has welded joints vs. riveted joints on ALICE. MALICE is much stiffer and tougher.
    The MALICE uses approx. 3/4 diameter tubing vs. 5/8 diameter tubing on ALICE.

    Thanks for this. I used alice in the army. When a rivet beoke in the field, we just popped it out with out knife, ran some 550 cord through and tied the point off until we could replace it. Those things broke on us a lot.

    Can't go wrong with a bombproof frame, although it seems that the Alice frame rivets fail a lot more often than the Canadian C2 that I own. I have an original riveted issue one and a reproduction that was once made by a surplus place here in Canada based on the original welded version.
    I love them both and hands down my favorite frame!

    OK!...well, i have had a few issues with the Malice frame...four of which come to mind.
    #1, you cannot use a Cargo shelf with the Malice.
    #2 if using the medium Alice with the Malice frame, the cross bar takes up way to much space inside an already small rucksack.
    #3 if you were unlucky enough to break a welded seam it would be unrepairable in the field and out.
    #4...not really an issue for me but half a pound heavier is still half a pound heavier.
    I could maybe find one or two other things i did not care for on my Malice frame...but i think you get my point my friend...Thanks for sharing your opinions and for defending this Country Charles!!!

      I understandnabout the shelf, that is one that I don't like. I will try a shelf from the Lightweight Rucksack shelf, although it would have to sit on top of the bottom box.
      Yes, the crossbar does protrude, but I won't use it with ALICE pack. It should be nice for use with the adjustable ergo shoulder pads.
      I don't foresee breaking a weld, but I do carry plumber's epoxy putty.
      Yes, 8 oz. more weight is a bit, but I am not at the stage where I have to reduce weight and I figure that with the TT ruck already weighs 2.5 lbs. less than the USMC Pack weighs. The slots on the side should work well with the jib-jab tabs on the bottom of that ruck as well.

    Thank you for sharing everything you post! I find you often cover details that are missed by others and as a fellow milsurp collector I find your information invaluable. I cannot stress how much I appreciate your content. I took three trains to the other side of Germany to pick up a Condor Mo-93, all because your video was probably one of the most honest assessments of it.

    The tactical tailor frame is made of titanium, not aluminum. It says so right on their website. It is both lighter and stronger than the standard ALICE frame. Also, with a rounded bottom bar, it makes it more difficult to mount the metal shelf for a radio pack. I only mention this because some people like to mount for carrying wood and other things on the frame.

    • @eskimomarine2252
      @eskimomarine2252  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Online, it currently says it is aluminum. It does say that it is lighter than the aftermarket reproductions (think Rothco). It weighs approximately 8 oz. more than the green issued one that I show in the video.

    • @eskimomarine2252
      @eskimomarine2252  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe that it can, but I don't have Molle 2. It should mount on it similar to the Wildcat ALICE Pack. They have videos of that.

    Your GI frame is bent. The central vertical rib is bent in towards the wearer. If you intend to use it, I suggest you bend it back out to provide the proper amount of clearance from your back.

      Sage advice. I am working 70 hours a week, and it is difficult for me to even make any videos, So I just blunder through to get it out. I know that it is difficult for viewers, yet it is worse in my mind not to do anything.
