    I just ordered a 2023 and I am excited. I have been watching every Q8 video on TH-cam and love hearing everyone's experience. I've only seen one Q8 consistently in my neighborhood but it is an older model and darker color.

      My Q8 was very reliable, no issues. The biggest “issue” for some is that there are very few buttons, so you will low ratings for Infotainment by some reviewers. But the touch screens are very responsive, and many functions can be accessed via steering wheel controls and voice if need be. Personally, I never really need to change the climate control if set on Auto.

    Nice car! Now driving an A6 but I ordered a Q8 60 TFSIe and looking forward to it! Just a remark: you say you can push the gear selector handle to the right to put it in sport mode, but that seems wrong. Pushing it to the right puts it in manual mode.
    Pulling it down puts it in Sport mode, alternating with Drive mode if you pull it down again.

    Hey! Great video! One thing you mentioned that nobody else mentioned in their video was the gas saving ... the way the car turns off while fully stopped and then turns back on when you accelerate, is that an option we can decline and just have it the "regular" way without the car turning off at a complete stop? I don't think its safe.. it makes me feel like its so bad for the engine to keep on turning on and off.. im looking for a new vehicle coming from a jeep wrangler. I am in love with this vehicle but after you mentioning the turn on and off feature... I got sad. Lol. Thank you for the video again!

    Cody, you have a button on the dash to turn off the auto start stop. It's horrible onnAudis and we all suffer due to their EU regs. Nonethe less turn it off or get a chip that disables it. No more problem. Audi claims to have made this more seemless in 2021models and hybrids.

      Not as cheap as Japanese models. Can save some if you buy AudiCare, or have an independent mechanic. At 30k, had to replace front brakes, pads and rotors. $1,500. Ouch! But it is a fast 5k pound vehicle, so physics matter. Rear brakes fine. All that said, I love it, drives great.

    • @taylorm771
      @taylorm771 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      1) Reliability: Subpar on our 2019 for the 3 years we had it. Electronic gremlins galore in the 3rd year.
      Biggest repair was the alternator. Mild-hybrid system acts as the alternator, and as indicated by its poor calibration on throttle tip-in: mild-hybrid system is far from refined. Alternator went, Audi had parts shortage, wound up being stuck in service center. Under warranty so no cost to us, but had it been out of warranty, firmly a day (week, month) ruiner.
      2) Maintenance: Expected for German cars, it's pricey. Generally warranted, but Audi made some notably consumer-unfriendly engineering choices. Changing oil filter requires taking off air filter, disconnecting intake manifold... for a 3.0L engine lol. Extra work comes with extra labor costs, unless you DIY. Brakes & rotors are $$ and wear fast because of its weight (~30k miles, just like previous commenter). If you get the 22" wheels, non-linear price increase over smaller size tires. Availability lower, price higher. And ofc, larger tires wear faster, especially on heavier vehicles. 21" are the sweet spot in style:sidewall ratio.
      MPG also oddly poor. 3.0L engine + mild-hybrid should be more efficient. BMW X5 is a similar weight, yet its 3.0L I6 trim is more efficient (3mpg better in city, 5mpg hwy) even without a mild-hybrid system. In fact, the bi-turbo V8 X5 with 100+hp/tq more than the Q8 gets the same mpg...
      Most shopping in the segment prob won't care about a couple mpg, but if nothing else, sign of mechanical/ tuning inefficiencies.
      All that being said, loved ours despite its problems. Lease, buy new, used with warranty + diligent maintenance history... I'd say worth the dice roll.

    If this is the Audi 3.0 Turbo….then There are BIG problems with Oil Consumption with this engine going forward and Audi says that its not “Out of Spec” until you reach 1qt per 1000 miles (WTF?)…and they moved the timing chain to fhe rear (bell housing side) of the engine (again WTF?)…and they have the Plastic PCV valve located between the heads below the Turbo and it gets too hot and you get carbon deposits on the valve seats. Beautiful SUV…but its a maintenance beast waiting to happen.
